VT News will run this story in the wake of the BOV approving the new plan for funding the Athletics Department:

There are five items listed that the money will be put toward:
Just watched a replay of last night's game on Youtube. It was weird, lots of AI stuff happening which was unsettling enough, but then the game veered into fantasy or something. I'd listened to the game last night, had the score in my head when I went to bed and informed the wife.
However, the game we saw today had a final score of 42 - 40, with us still winning by the same margin, but a ton of scores I didn't hear last night. At first, we were worried about my brain, seriously, but then I looked it up and saw that no, didn't happen that way.
I know you guys know this computer stuff, so could anyone enlighten me here? WTF!!!
Can't believe there's no fam thread yet..
Monty might have just gotten a better win than Pry did in his entire tenure.
Also TERION STEWART.
I award myself no points, and may God have mercy on my soul.
It is an unfortunate truth about Philip Montgomery that he is already doing things that Brent Pry never achieved at Virginia Tech in his first games as interim head coach. While it is easy to point out that it took two games for Montgomery to achieve a one-score victory (something Pry only achieved against a Liberty team whose coach had one foot out the door in 2022), last night's victory at Carter-Finley Stadium represented something we haven't seen since the previous interim head coaching run. Virginia Tech won a road conference game as an underdog, last achieved by J.C. Price against Virginia (who CBS Sports had listed as -7 favorites) in 2021.
Heard through the grapevine that Jeff King will be tech's new general manager. It is in the works.

I am shocked by Virginia Tech's untenable position that a decision to redshirt constitutes "opting out" and fraudulent misrepresentation under the NCAA's Bylaws, justifying immediate termination of scholarships and revenue-sharing payments under the House settlement. Not to step on Bar's toes but I've been enamored with a psuedo-under the radar candidate in Bryant Haines. Consistently referred to as the "brain child" of Cignetti's coaching staff, I think he should be seriously considered.
Looks like we're losing another one. He transferred in this season from UNC and has played in all of our games thus far, tallying 21 tackles and a sack. Don't know how bad this hurts, but LB is definitely a weak spot in our defense.

Looks like we big dogged Tennessee?
Here is his bio from UT's website:
Dr. JaVonte' Ashford joined the Tennessee Fund in October 2021 and currently serves as an Assistant Athletics Director of Development. He is responsible for identifying and securing major gifts in support of UT Athletics.
Looks like we're losing another one per 247. He showed flashes but spent a lot of time injured. Below is his quote:
We already knew Pry and Deshaun Foster from UCLA.
Today Mike Gundy at Oklahoma State joined the ranks of those fired. Figured it was cleaner to have a new thread rather than adding on to a 400 comment thread.
Sources have told @On3sports that the Super Bowl champion head coach and former Virginia Tech QB Bruce Arians is expected to consult and lend his expertise to the Hokies' hiring committee. Intel: https://t.co/qXEtIAxZSu pic.twitter.com/CIjCcmOczY— Pete Nakos (@PeteNakos_) September 22, 2025
I think this is encouraging. Glad he'll be a part of it
