I think this is the third or fourth time this season, about time all of us NoVa Hokie fans get a more regular diet of Hokie coverage... of course this wouldn't be happening if Lurch didn't have his kids in Blacksburg.
I stopped my takeaway list about halfway through the video. Pry gives a lot of good insight into the bye week and the coaches' adjustments and I didn't want to end up paraphrasing the entire press conference. Definitely worth a listen IMO.
Bored so wanted to look at the how the roster will change from this to next year, and what kind of improvement if any we can expect. It's been speculated that next year will be when the most roster attrition takes place, so I wanted to see how many players are leaving and how many could/should be replaced by the portal.
Not 100% sure but I believe we had 1-2 open scholarships at the start of this season. Looking at the roster I believe we will lose around 18-21 seniors and 5-10 current players to the transfer portal. I'll estimate on the high end of both.
Another Fall Saturday and another reminder of just how far this Virginia Tech football program has fallen. I suspected that the post Frank Beamer era (not sure how long of an era I anticipated) would be a struggle, but I didn't think the bottom would fall out. We've all discussed ad-nauseam why we are where we are, but in the end it doesn't really matter. What matters now is how we get back up. So lets collectively highlight any silver-linings and constructive (critical) observations from the game yesterday. Below are a couple from me:
Almost of my most memorable experiences in live viewing of college football have come in Lane Stadium. The rest have all been in other locations, but always involved our beloved Hokies ('95 Sugar Bowl, '05 Sugar Bowl, '16 Belk Bowl, etc).
I've more or less assessed college football at large through my personal lens... everything that makes Lane Lane.... the seating, the production value, the general fan engagement, etc, which nurtured my love for the game and made me believe that this is what college football was... which brings me to my visit to Wake Forest over the weekend.
