Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
This one is personal for me, as I grew up in Atlanta in a Georgia Tech family. I'm sick of ceding "Tech" to my family. WE MUST TAKE THE NAME TECH BACK!
And because you may be curious, Brent Key anagrams to...nothing noteworthy.

And Escape their Second Worst Quarter in the Process
If there has been one trait that has defined the Hokies since 2018, it is that usually anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Whether it is Brent Pry going 1-10 in one score games, or late era Fuente blowing it to Notre Dame and Syracuse on his way to getting fired, we are certainly well acquainted with a late loss.

I am going to stand up again with my theory that close games are more entertaining. So i have looked at conference games through week 8 of this season and again the ACC has the most 1 score games (note I am counting ND vs ACC team as ACC game).
The Big Ten is the worst to watch as it is almost 50% blowouts.
The Big 12 seems more boom or bust with 1 score and 3+ score games being almost equal.
The SEC does well and has had a number of great games the past couple of weeks

I don't need to do much except to say this is a fine example of a bored writer assigned to write about UVA football and using the assignment to perform a few lyrical exercises.
A few quotes.
...To tell you the truth, when I'm ticking off ACC programs in my head (a difficult task these days), Virginia, despite being an alleged "founding member" of the ACC, occasionally slips my mind. Much like their fanbase, my brain refuses to acknowledge that Virginia football is a thing.

The Hokies took care of business in their first trip to visit an ACC member in California last Saturday in their 31-7 win over Stanford. In terms of Net EPA per play, this was the fourth best win of Brent Pry's career (behind UVA, Wake Forest, and Syracuse last season) and the strongest of 2024. It was the 9th best game of Week 6, and the 5th best among major conference schools.

NCAA just announced that this year they have reduced the transfer windows to 30 total days, down from 45. The dates are December 9th to December 28th. The Spring portal will be April 16th 2025 to April 25th 2025.
This seems rather dense on their part, not surprising for the NCAA. The spring one doesn't pose a huge issue but the winter one means many players will be forced to declare before bowl games. Seems a rather stupid decision and I expect their will be backlash for it.
The 30 day exception in event of a coaching change is still in place.
Graduate transfer are now required to use these same windows to declare.

UNLV and Syracuse is a better game than I expected. Honestly thought UNLV was going to mop the floor with the Orange.

Every week Parker Fleming of College Football Insiders posts the "How Badly Did We Get Beat" chart on Twitter, a look at net success rate between the winning team over the losing team. On the right hand side are games where the winning teams dominated in victory, while on the right are teams that lucked into a win (looking at you, Rutgers vs. Washington).
