So... Motley looked less than stellar in his most-of-a-half play. Since we didn't see Lawson, I assume he's not ready, and the coaches don't want to burn the redshirt. Any word on Durkin? I really haven't heard much about him this year. Is he a viable option if Motley continues to not cut it, and Brewer takes a while to get back?
1) Offensive line played well tonight. They got push all game long. You didn't see DL running free all game long like last season. Good in pass protection. One breakdown (looked like a communication error where Gallo stepped right, saw the blitz left and went to help Coleman when he had to take Washington) cost them Brewer. You hate that for a kid in Gallo, making his first start, who played pretty well.
2) I loved the 2nd quarter response. On defense, Chuck Clark had an amazing game. He made every tackle inside.
The gloves come off tonight, I'll be here win or lose tomorrow. But it's been fun talking about the game the past few weeks on here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to Blacksburg, but EVERYONE on facebook, texts, etc. I knew that went is having a great time, and the locals have been extremely cordial.
Hope for a fair game, neither team be injured, but the pleasantries end there. I hope we hang 50 on you.

Thanks to all the Hokie fans on here for being so welcoming to us Buckeyes. I've been to a lot of opposing fans sites and several have been less than respectful. Everyone on TKP has been classy, insightful, and made my overall experience extremely positive. So thanks yall!
About 4 hours to game time and I still don't know how I feel. This is a rare game in which I literally have no idea what to expect from either team. How many snaps will Cardale play, if any? Will Braxton actually be an x-factor? Will Brewer look like Joe Montana again on 3rd and long? Does Bosa get replaced adequately or does this pass rush get exposed? No idea.
Today was the dedication of the football practice facility. The field was formally named in honor of late Hokie alumnus and track athlete Patrick D. Cupp. HokieSports has the full story:
Tech officials christened the field as the "Patrick D. Cupp Field" in honor of Cupp, a former Tech track athlete who passed away in 2000. Sandra Davis spoke to the audience of between 200-300 people about what Tech athletics met to her deceased husband.
"I've never known a more devoted Hokie than my late husband, Patrick D. Cupp," Davis told the audience. "The reason autumn was his favorite season was because when the leaves turned orange and maroon, that was God's way of noticing the Hokies."

So unfortunately I can't make it to the burg but I'm trying to find a good bar in Fairfax/Arlington/maybe DC to catch the game tonight. I assume there is no other post like this because everyone else is down there *sob*.
For newer members of the TKP Community who want to read up on our opponent before today's game, here is all our preview material on the Buckeyes. Enjoy!

Have you ever noticed that certain players tend to be a thorn in the side of certain opponents?
I've always thought that JC Coleman has had some of his best games against Duke, going back to his freshman year when he had 183 yards and two long TDs on 13 carries. The 1st of the two touchdowns was the go ahead touchdown at the start of the second half.
Later in the game he puts the Hokies up 3 scores with an 86 yard TD run immediately after Duke turns the ball over on downs.
Ladies and Gentleman! IT IS GAME DAY!! Tailgating starting now? Let's hear about it. Awesome tweets about the game? Post. Completely hammered celebrating game day at a nice early hour? Poooost. It's game day! LET'S GO HOKIES!!

Before our big game tomorrow I've been watching some old YouTube footage of the glory days and I was thinking it would be awesome to see what the Key Play thinks is our greatest plays that stick out in your mind. Mine is Jimmy Williams interception against Jason Campell in the orange bowl. Just the way he baited that throw and dove in front to snag it. Let's hear your guys!!!!

He won't be on the radio tomorrow. It hit me again this morning watching the Tech Sports Show and John Lasser was the host as Bill did for years. It saddens me because I cannot remember listening to a Hokie FB /BB game without him. How many years has it been? Happy that he has a hot young QB to follow! Talk to a hoo!
Actually JL did a pretty good job on the show this morning. We just have to start associating great sports moments with his voice. I say tomorrow would be a great place to start.
