Football Forum
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
It's only 37 days till the number 1 team in the nation comes to Blacksburg. Wanted to start a thread where people going to the game could post things. Tailgate information, parking tips, where to stay, what to do while in town. This will especially be helpful for people like me who haven't set foot in Blacksburg since the mid 90's. Hope to see some of my fellow TKPers there.

College Football Live discusses the Ohio State Suspensions. No only do they think OSU still wins, but that they could loose 4-6 more players and still win.
Edit: Audio, approximately 42 minutes long.

this is a handy reference for those interested in reading the media guides to any FBS football teams of interest and makes for a great complement to the paid guides most of us buy from the newstands: Link

I'll state up front I want Bud Foster as our next HC and I'll tell you why.
Just reading the comments from a LOT of recruits, more than a few mentioned the "family" atmosphere.
I think Bud can keep this cultivated commodity going. I also think he's learned a lot from Frank through the years. I think he would do a good job running the family business. He could also keep a lot of the coaches there, even promoting Gray to DC.
Having said that, how will Foster manage things? Would he promote Gray to DC? Would he still have time to keep the defense up to par? Will his HC duties get in the way? Would his HC duties suffer as a result of making a game plan for the defense?

Saw a post on the VT off campus housing directory from a Melvin K. with picture saying that he is looking to sublease his room because he plans to transfer. Looking at his twitter, some recent posts seem to be related to a decision to transfer. Anyone heard anything official?

I was reading over on TSL, and they claimed that according to some Ohio State message boards (which I refuse to read due to their arrogance) Joey Bosa, Jalin Marshall, and Dontre Wilson, + one more receiver may be suspended for the first part of the season. Ive got no idea how true this is, and where/who this rumor came from, but if true, Braxton Millers move to receiver makes a lot more sense now. That is 2 of their best receivers, and a potential top pick in next seasons draft in Bosa.

Sort of maybe. In Athlons magazine they predicted VT to go to the Pinstripe bowl against Michigan. FSU to win the conference in an at-large bid and two sec teams in the final four (Bama and auburn).
Thoughts??

Rumors that Kam is unhappy with they contract he signed 2 seasons ago and might hold out for a raise. I Love the OTC website as it always presents interesting pictures and statistics. I am torn, I believe in working for what you agreed to but on the same side I know teams have no trouble cutting players if they get injured, skill decreases, etc. Thoughts?

I was going through my phone and clearing out some pictures and ran across a few that I had taken from inside the Horseshoe last year before and after our triumph. I thought I'd post a couple here and see what everyone else had!
Any of y'all have some good photos from 09/6/14?

Tech plans to introduce beer and wine sales in the west side club seats at Lane Stadium this football season, multiple sources said, following an emerging nationwide trend in college athletics as athletic departments look to generate more revenue to cover the rising cost of doing business, including cost of attendance.

8. (tie) Virginia Tech Hokies (2.88)
The opener's brutal, against the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes, who return almost everyone. After that the Hokies get two 3-9 teams in FCS Furman (home) and Purdue (road). The other non-conference game is at ECU, which has won 26 games in the past three years and is 4-2 against ACC teams in its last six meetings.

For those with friends who are season ticket holders or Hokie Club members.
I apologize if this has been covered already, but I know that some TKP'ers have been asking about anOSU ticket. Hokies just announced a 3 game home ticket plan for $250 that includes an opening game ticket. I personally like the NCState package too. 2 night games in Lane, plus a bonus conference game for $250, yes please.
I will drink if this is a repost.

Yesterday on the The Paul Finebaum show the fill in host and some talking heads were discussing the ACC and got around to talking about Miami. They threw these stats on the screen:
Since moving to the ACC IN 2004: Miami has NEVER been to the ACC championship, Miami has had 3 head coaches, Miami has had ZERO ten win seasons, 2-6 in bowl games last win was 2006 against Neveda in Boise, 3-8 versus FSU
Seeing that made my day.
