The Most Valuable Punt
So last night this question was posed:

Bud Foster and Stacy Searels speaking at Clarendon Ballroom on June 16th
Here is the NOVA Hokie Club write up. I enjoy these events, although be prepared for old codgers asking stupid questions ("will Dwayne Lawson start next year?" just about gave me a heart attack after a senior returning starter just had an excellent spring.) The time with the coaches is short, but the opportunity to speak with them often offers a bit of insight. I enjoy it.
JD Howell Show Replacement
Has there been any movement on someone to replace JD Howell on ESPN Blacksburg? I listen to his live show daily and podcast when I missed it. My commute home has sucked of late. Any developments on who will fill the void and will the show be picked back up? This sucks.

VTPhreak's videos and TKP
I see where Phreak has his video library for sale. I was wondering if TKP was looking into purchasing his library. I think it would enhance the site in big way.
Met Bud Foster today
He was at the Ace Hardware in Hampton.
First, I have to say that he was a great guy. Very social, polite, and just left a good impression. I brought my 11 month old son with me and the first thing he said was "is this a future Hokie?" and grabbed a football and signed it for him. It wasn't too busy when I was there, so it was great to talk VT football with him.
A few points:
- He is a BIG fan of Lawson and thinks he is the real deal. He was down in FL recently and is just impressed with the kid. He said that there could be a package with him this fall to get him on the field. I thought that was very interesting.

College Football Coaches Ranked
Check out this link. I looked at the ACC rankings got a giggle at who brings up the rear:
Eleven Warriors is talking some crazy SMACK!
Had some down time today so did a little trolling over at Eleven Warriors. Man they took that loss last year and are pissed! They seem a little delusional to think they will beat us in Lane this year by 30 or more. Hell there was one crazy dud talking about coming into town an burning Blacksburg down. They are buying the hype of the Vegas odds right now. Clearly they have no clue how much better we are "projected" to be. I truly believe that not only will we beat Ohio State again, we will win the ACC this year.
Guys and gal's go check this delusional fanbase out!

Sporting News gives Tyrod a good grade
Apparently the buzz is that TT has a great shot at the starting job.
Some mixed reports here of EJ Manuel's progress and Tyrod is hungry.

Syracuse Football un-retires number 44
I saw on ESPN today that Syracuse is taking the number 44 out of retirement. Number 44 was previously warn by Syracuse greats Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and Floyd Little and was retired back in 2005 . Syracuse now plans to award the number to a selected player as an honor, similar to what Michigan did with the number 98 and Devin Gardner. Donovan McNabb came out on social media against the decision.
I want to know what Hokie Nation thinks about this move. Should they keep the number retired or is it the right move to use it as a special honor to be given to a player? What would you say if Virginia Tech did the same thing with number 78 worn by Hokie great Bruce Smith?

Vincent Fuller: Life after the NFL
The magazine of the Pamplin College of Business ran a feature on Vincent Fuller this month chronicling how he and his family have valued education in accord with their football accomplishments. This quote should be painted on the wall of the film room or something:
I felt that if I was challenging myself academically, it would translate into challenging myself mentally in football. I could pick things up more quickly in the film room and on the field, where it's important to recognize a changing situation and react instantly.
