Looks like it is official that we will be keep the same short stripes as last year. There was some discussion that we may move to longer stripes, similar to LSU, but these don't look to be as long.

Dewayne Alford left the Virginia Tech football program before spring practice. South Alabama head football coach Joey Jones announced Tuesday that Dewayne Alford has enrolled in school and will join the program in the fall. Virginia Tech degree in-hand (or framed on a wall, or stuffed in the back of a closet) Alford will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Thoughts:
Unfortunately, I agree with the author. It's an extremely delicate time for Tech football. If we mess up and get 7-8 wins again next season, I'm afraid we're going to start a spiral into mediocrity that will be hard to get out of. Beamer should start thinking of stepping aside at that point. However, if we do well and get 9 or more wins, we will be able to keep the ship steady until Beamer decides to hang the boots 2016-2017.
Basically, next season is the pivotal season for VT Football and its future. Thoughts?

Jon Laaser, the director of broadcasting for the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball team since 2010, is the new voice of Virginia Tech athletics.
The school and IMG College, which produces Hokies radio broadcasts, are announcing the hiring Tuesday.

Hey Joe,
To tide us over the summer (and to better help prepare us gear up for our season opener) - perhaps you and the rest of the staff can breakdown anOSU's nice run in the play offs (or season)? I'd like to see how they beat up on that vaunted Bama D in detail, and how they crushed Whisky and shut down their excellent ground game. It'll be helpfull for us lay folks to get a sense of what they did and how they might do it against us. Thanks!

Lol, I promise I don't work for Buzzfeed. Also, they didn't do a great job of keeping it a secret.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As the Purdue Football Master Plan evolves, former Boilermaker All-America quarterback Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany, have committed $1 million to the football program.
Supposedly Purdue held a "summit" with alumni, former players and staff members of Purdue and worked out this plan to take Purdue football to the next level. I would love to see Whit get some Hokie Alumni players to donate even small sums to get the ball rolling for the next generation if improvements.

An interesting look at the analysis of our chances of beating anOSU.
Sauce
Personally I love how people keep underestimating us. If this was game 4 or 5 of the season, i'd give us much less of a chance of the upset. But game 1? Healthy athletes (touchwood)? I hope they like seconds of ass-whooping!

Thoughts:
Great article, and I basically agree with everything he says. This is THE year to rebound, there are almost no question marks in any of the key positions as we return almost everyone. We have the weapons, we need to trust the offensive staff to utilize them properly, something we had serious trouble doing last season.
I have nothing to say about the defense since we know it's going to be great. Bud is a genius.

10. Augie Conte, OL, Virginia Tech
The Hokies' returning starter at offensive guard boasts a 440-pound bench press, a 575-pound back squat and can power clean 390 pounds. On a team that always seems to have a physical presence on the line of scrimmage, he's the weight-room standout. Does it translate to the field? Well, against Ohio State's vaunted defense, in an upset Hokies win, he had six knockdown blocks.
I am surprised he is on there and Wyatt isn't considering they are very close to another in lifting. Hopefully it translates to the field this year.
