Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

Dear Football Gods

The ride home after the big game gets easier with each passing year. It was tough in 04 as a student riding back to Annapolis from Fed Ex nearly blacked out . A few months later in New Orleans, the trip back to the hotel was harder than USC's loss because we were one dropped pass in the endzone from a Sugar bowl win. The next day's 17 or so hour car ride was miserable. The following year I was stuck staying with Bulldogs fans who turned out to be inhospitable and made the 8 hour ride home only slightly less painful than the prior year's big loss. Thank God I wasn't in Baton Rouge for the next national stage meltdown in 07, but I did manage to make it to BOA stadium for the ECU debacle in 08.

Six Pick: Week Two

Felt good to have college football back. Last weekend kicked the fall off nicely, even if my and most everyone else's picks sucked. Surprises, tight games, Les Miles being Les Miles, what more could you ask for? This week offers another solid week of OOC matchups and one really big, early Pac12 game. The national headliner is the Spartans of Michigan State heading to Eugene vs the Roboducks. This appears to be the first head to head game that will help shape the playoffs. If you can swing it, you should really have two TV's up on Saturday night.

Bigger misstep at Oregon in the last decade, RoboDuck circa 2003 or the 2013 hiring of Head Coach Mark Helfrich?

Looks like it is okay to stand during the game

While perusing ElevenWarriors I came across this:

http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2014/09/39775/standing...

Looks like there was quite a bit of a stir over the whole snitching on fans standing during the game. tOSU admin adjusted accordingly to just snitching on fans getting out of hand.

God, I hope I'm not late on this.

Report Ohio State Fans For Standing!

It seems only appropriate to post this CBS article considering some of the recent discussion here (and to also serve as a warning for Hokie fans making the trip to Columbus this weekend). Apparently, Ohio State's policy is against fans who stand during game play and they can now be anonymously reported via text. Here is the important part if you want to skip the article:

Woah- My user name

I just saw a post on TSL by someone with the same name I chose for this site.

I will change my name. That guy has had this name for a long time, apparently, and I want no confusion, and surely did not intend to pretend I was him. Totally coincidental.

I'll be changing my name, and I'll be back!

Buckeye Fan Poll - Time to stuff the ballot box

I love the smell of a troll poll in the morning. Smells like victory. I found this poll on the "Buckeye Extra". Surprisingly the option: Virginia Tech win by 1-9 points already has 16%. Good start, but WAAYYYY to low. Click and vote. Because it is fun and trolliffic.

Yup, I'm drunk...

Feeling ballsy in my first ever post...A few too many beers and Wild Turkeys perhaps...but why can't we beat "THEE OVERRATED STATE UNIVERSITY"? Common sense says one thing but drunk sense is way more fun, so I'm going believe in us to win on a big stage. I mean if we lose, none of us will be that shocked...but if we win, I dare say it will be the sweetest win since Miami 03'. I choose the latter, but now if you excuse me it's time to "stick it in".

Six Pick Results

A special thanks to Brooks Aker @brooksaker for compiling the stats. If you feel he missed something leave a comment, we'll look into it. Misinterpreting, misreading and misposting data does happen. Brooks even added Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel into the mix. I'll buy them beer if they win too. Yes, Steve ... I owe you double.

This past week was the biggest turnout yet! Keep playing, even if you have a bad week or two.

Congrats to 2HokiesIn, HortHokie15, jspenge, PH2VT, & wildturkey84
and for you guys at 0-6 HokieJoe3, RealDiehl, reesejenks520, & SeattleHokie ... errr, it's week one jitters?

WEEK ONE RESULTS!

VT Alumni Assoc. Ohio St. Pre-game Tailgate

Similar to large away games in previous years, the local VTAA is putting on a pregame tailgate. I went to the one before the Bama game last year in ATL and had a blast.

They will have raffles, food, TV's, and a cash bar.

Please see the following for more details:

Register here: www.alumni.vt.edu/osu

ALSO, apparently registration closes today at 5. Sorry for the late notice.

Time to Rise

Ladies and gentleman of the Hokie Nation, the time has come. Our enemy is upon us, the wolf is howling at our door. We must stand together as sheepdogs and go forward into the fray together as one. One team, one town and one nation, the Hokie Nation. From the darkness a fire will rise and it's going to burn down Buckeye stadium. There are storm clouds forming above and a darkness rising on the ground. The Dark Hokies will rise up and defeat our opponent. There's a storm coming.... Better find you a basement. It's Time to Rise....
