Hudson is from Richmond, Virginia, which makes sense that Smart and his staff would take in Jalen as a transfer.
if this is where he eventually lands, i'd be sad to see him go but happy he landed in a good spot and thankful for his contributions to Hokie hoops. good luck, Hudson...
Former Delaware guard Kory Holden committed to USC(e) earlier today. He had narrowed his list to the Gamecocks, Virginia Tech and Baylor, and was on campus in Blacksburg yesterday.
While the article doesnt necessarily hold any earth shattering news (Other than the writer is a UNC grad and seems to know how to write in actual sentences) to most of us fans of the program, its just one more step in the process of the outside waking up to the potential this program has going forward.
Isnt this true though:
The first victory for Virginia Tech in the 2016-17 season is already in the books: knowing that coach Buzz Williams will be around for a third season.

Surprised there wasn't a ton of banter or coverage regarding Kobe's retirement. At any rate, for anybody that cares or is watching, here's a thread for the NBA playoffs. Pretty much every game 1 went as expected (with a few routes). So a quick question lingering, will our adopted Steph Curry lead the Warriors to another Golden Glory this season, or will LBJ FINALLY nab that eternally elusive Champ for Cleveland (oops, looks like I jinxed him again already...probably. Oh well). Please enjoy and discuss.
"He was a very consistent player, he never missed a big game. This was player who was very strong mentally, with a killer instinct. He loved to take the big shots at the end of the games. He made a big impact in the playoffs and, again, in the final against Le Mans for the French Title."
Maryland basketball players Jared Nickens, Jaylen Brantley and Damonte Dodd have been dancing to "My Boo" by Ghost Town for weeks and now they're trying to make it a movement.
To quote Groucho Marx "Hello, I must be going!" Before the decision is made for me, I am officially announcing my retirement as the voice of Milwaukee Panthers Men's basketball. I would say it's taking the last life boat off the Titanic, but that would be unfair to the crew of the Titanic.

One of the Hokie boards that Ty Outlaw will play this fall? Can't access it because not a subscriber but most of the time that news is posted on the TKP before anywhere else. If my post is inappropriate please delete and take some legs and please accept my apologies.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like no one REALLY wanted to talk about the UNC investigations in the lead up to the Final Four and Championship Game. It was mentioned in passing but there wasn't really a deep dive into it. Ole Roy might get asked 2 softball questions about it and it moves on.
A year and a half ago, Roy Williams said he was worried sick about the NCAA's investigation. Now he says he doesn't expect UNC basketball to face any punishment whatsoever. Some have called this the worst academic scandal in NCAA history, but Williams doesn't seem concerned.
Interesting development...I don't know how long the whole "Is he eligible to play" argument will drag out. However, the fact that we may have up two scholarships in reserves (depending upon how Wilson and Outlaw shake out) could make us a backdoor contender if other schools have their scholarships already accounted for and if he's declared ineligible for the 2016 draft.
Brewer analyzed each program's revenues and expenses and made cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections to calculate what a college team would be worth on the open market, if it could be bought and sold like a professional franchise.
While all hypothetical this still bodes well for Buzz and Whit.

Oak Hill beat La Lumiere for the HS National Championship thanks to Khadim Sy's last second tip in overtime. Let's hope he brings that good fortune with him to the Burg.
Sy has looked pretty darn good from what I've watched of Oak Hill during the tournament on ESPN. He's got great shot blocking/rebounding instincts and his offensive game is coming around pretty well. He's got a great frame that could add muscle easily. He's got the chance to be a real inside force for us.
Virginia Tech & Ole Miss will start a home-&-home series next year in Blacksburg, source told @CBSSports. Return game in Oxford in 17-18.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 1, 2016

I thought that the press conference yesterday to introduce Coach Brooks as the new Lady Hokies' BBall coach was as equally exciting as the ones for Buzz & CJF. His style of play bodes well for the future of women's basketball. Here we go again - it will be up-tempo with a lot of three pointers (but not chaotic or out of control) combined with tight defense. But he said that absolutely there will be no press - "don't ask me to press"!!! He said that the women would work extremely hard and would sacrifice for the betterment of the team, for the family. It was also confirmed that his daughter-recruit Kendyl will be released from JMU & will play for VT.
