Buzz Williams has added Nicholas Fullard, a 6-foot-ten center from Belmont Abbey College (Division II), to the Hokies' basketball program, per a report from the Richmond Times-Dispatch's Mike Barber.

After the summer evaluation period, Hokies 2017 basketball commit Nickeil Alexander-Walker has moved up to 29 on the newest version of the ESPN 100 rankings. Alexander-Walker is heading into his senior year of high school. IIRC he was 34 in the last rankings.

If you were an elite basketball player, which coach would you rather play for?
1) Alumni in the NBA: Buzz Williams boast a current olympian (Jimmy Butler) and a smorgasbord of of other NBA players (Wes Matthews & Jae Crowder amongst others). Tony Bennett can claim Klay Thompson during Bennett's final year at Washington State (Thompson's freshman season) and a couple of bit players from his tenure from UVA, most notably Mike Scott. Edge: Williams
With the announcement that Coach Brooks had added an additional five players to the roster to go along with the two who signed last fall, I was immediately drawn to the fact the we only lost three players to graduation. I may have missed some news but I didn't think I missed the fact that a total of seven players were gone so that the aforementioned seven new adds could be accommodated.
So I looked at the roster ending with the WNIT games last winter and discovered that in addition to the graduation of Young, Powell and Campbell, we are also missing underclassmen Gilmer, Koshuta, Croker and Nahodil. I know there's always some transition when a new coach comes on but I couldn't find any news about these four.
Anyone??
Buzz Williams was on the latest edition of the College Hoops Today Podcast. I always love getting to hear Buzz interviews as he is very motivating and he always takes things beyond basketball and into everyday life.
Buzz joins the show at the 10 minute mark and finishes at 38:30.
Here a few topics they covered in the conversation:

This is great news for VT.
Looks like the big guy is pretty happy. Good to have him re-up at the helm for a few more years.

Guard Malcolm Delaney has agreed to a guaranteed two-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources tell The Vertical.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) July 3, 2016
Finally! Dude has been killing it in Europe. Congrats to Delaney on all the hard work.
Ty Outlaw and Ahmed Hill have both been fully cleared for basketball activities, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Virginia Tech's Ahmed Hill (patella) has been fully cleared for all basketball related activities, Buzz Williams told @CBSSports.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) June 6, 2016
Figured it was time to start a separate thread. Sorry for the lateness (on vacation). So, after the first game it's hard to feel that having a fully healthy Love and Irving is going to make much of a difference. After (mistakenly) counting out Curry and the Warriors against the Thunder (sure am getting used to the taste of this crow pie), I am convinced there's absolutely nothing they can't do. And if things continue on their trajectory, James' pal and former teammate (Anderson Verajao) may be a world champion within 6-7. Please, discuss, input and react.
Hokies' sophomore guard Ahmed Hill discusses his knee injury and road to recovery.
Interesting idea from Kentucky's Calipari. Also a good point he makes about how it doesn't always help/hurt seeding. Why play 3/4 games and risk injury if you might not gain anything from it?

Naji Marshall?
Via CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein:
Michigan will host Virginia Tech in next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, sources told @CBSSports.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 23, 2016
It'll be a great early test for the Hokies. If you remember, last season's challenges away from home against big schools (neutral site vs Iowa State and St. Joeseph's) didn't go so well, but obviously this Tech team is in a much better place.
According to Rothstein, the rest of the Challenge breaks down like this:
Ohio State @ UVA
Virginia Tech forward Zach LeDay shared on Instagram his younger brother Seth is transferring to Virginia Tech.
Joe knows how to embed Instagram properly
And it's a big get. Mrs. HomebrewHokie was surfing Instagram and stumbled upon a picture of some dudes in Tech gear. Take a look:
I suspect we will see more details emerge very quickly, but it is being reported by ESPN's Jeff Goodman that Chew has taken a job with Billy Kennedy at Texas A&M:
Texas A&M's Billy Kennedy will hire Virginia Tech assistant Isaac Chew, sources told ESPN.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) May 13, 2016
So we might not have gotten alot out of Henry on the court here in his limited time but Buzz Williams pointed Henry to an opportunity to possibly play a different professional sport and so Shane is one of eighteen US athletes vying for two spots in the Australian Football League Draft Combine.
