Josh Sweat up to 1st overall on 247sports.
EDIT: I messed up and posted too soon. The list is updated now and Sweat is #1 overall.
Keep up-to-date with Tech commits and targets.

Guess he couldn't wait to commit so he did a day early. Welcome to Hokie Nation Deshawn!
Breaking News - Oscar Smith 2015 RB Deshawn McClease (@saicko_slim) has committed to the #Hokies of Va. Tech. More later on @VirginiaPreps— Matthew Hatfield (@hatfieldsports) July 15, 2014
This is a good read from Norm Wood on 757 class of 2015 stud Josh Sweat: http://www.dailypress.com/sports/dp-spt-feature-josh-sweat-fab-15-recrui....
It also includes this recruiting tidbit.
Want a read on where Sweat might be thinking about heading to college? Good luck. He doesn't have Twitter or a Facebook account, and he refutes any suggestion the recruiting websites have made about Sweat having a top five list of schools.
Virginia Tech is hosting its second prospect camp of the summer. Through the magic of social media, these prospects have indicated they'll be in Blacksburg. Put any news and notes on today's camp here.

Little recruiting update for you all-
Tremaine Edmunds, a 3-star LB recruit for 2015 and the brother of Hokies Trey and Terrell, will be in Blacksburg this week.
Just got off the phone with his dad/head coach, Ferrell, and he said he'd be headed up to Tech on Monday.
Edmunds is expected to decide soon, possibly by the end of this month, so this is likely a good sign for Tech.
I'm hoping to speak with Ferrell, and Tremaine himself, more very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
Deshawn McClease will decide between Virginia Tech and University of Maryland on July 16th, his 18th birthday. His commitment could have serious implications in getting Josh Sweat to sign with the Hokies. McClease is speedster who has good size for an RB and has room to grow. He would make a great addition to the VT 2015 recruiting class.

Let us wish Deshawn McClease an early happy birthday and hope he selects the Hokies.
Sorry if this is a duplicate (still kind of new to posting on here), but I thought this would be kind of fun to discuss on here. So here it goes, what was your biggest recruiting letdown (ex. Thought he was 100% a Hokie and then committed somewhere else) and then the opposite, what was your biggest committment suprise (thought no chance they were going to be a Hokie and ended up with the good guys). For me....
Biggest surprise: Kevin Jones; Thought he was PSU from day 1.
Biggest letdown: LeSean McCoy; I might be in the minority about this one, but I though for sure he was VT bound.
That is 6-5, 240 moving lightning fast.

Is going to announce his decision on Tuesday.
Davis is a receiver out of Highland Springs in Richmond. He's a big target for the Hokies, and has them at/near the top of his list. Having talked with his coach earlier this year, I'd be fairly surprised if he didn't end up in maroon and orange, but his recruitment has really taken off lately and the Tech coaching staff could be in for a bit of a battle here.

Hello TKP!
As you might've noticed from my first post that went up this morning, I'll be joining Joe and the rest of the crew to cover VT recruiting (among other things) so I wanted to introduce myself to you all.
I'm a very recent graduate of Tech-just finished school in May and am still currently in denial that it's over-and I got to spend a lot of time covering the team during my time with student media as the managing editor for the Collegiate Times and general manager of VTTV.
Kevin Bronson, one of Tech's 2014 signees won't be headed to Blacksburg as planned.
Big area recruiting news: #VaTech DE signee Kevin Bronson (Village Academy) has been granted a scholarship release. Will enroll at #USF.— Wells Dusenbury (@DuseReport1063) July 3, 2014
Trevon released on his twitter that he is down to 2 schools and those being UNC and VT, he will make his decision on Saturday on the local espn radio show I believe at 11 a.m.
Hall is a two-way tackle out of Northside High School in Roanoke. He'll announce tomorrow around 6:00 PM on channel 7 according to a tweet he tweeted.
Will decide on July 16th between Virginia Tech and Maryland per 247 Sports. With JC, Tyrod, Vick, and others recruiting him I think Tech has a good chance. I believe he is also visiting VT right before he decides as well.
Some positive recruiting news to end the weekend. Yay!

It's been reported he has a Virginia Tech offer.

Says his commitment to VT rates an 8 out of 10, and plans to visit Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Georgia.
Not all recruiting news is highly publicized or anticipated like Austin Clarke's decision so some news might slip through the cracks. So I put together some stuff that involves VT on the recruiting trail that happened relatively recent. Thought it might help especially people who aren't big on twitter or subscribers to pay websites.
Brandon Knight (OT - IN) - VT offered but has committed to in-state Indiana.
