Food for thought
Fun fact: Virginia Tech QB Logan Thomas is 15-0 as a starter when he doesn't throw an interception. He's 10-12 when he does. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) November 14, 2013

The end of the 2013 regular season is almost nigh and I haz sadz. Week 12 doesn't touch week 11 in terms of marquee matchups, but all 6 (well maybe not the B1G Ten game) should be entertaining and competitive. Nothing wrong with that.
Under the radar for many fans, but Auburn is back. So is Gus Malzahn. After a year at Arkansas State, Gus was all but left for dead, he's now reached demigod status by returning to life ... his and Auburn's.
Thursday, November 14th
Georgia Tech at (8) Clemson -10.5 ~~ 7:30 pm ESPN
I made the following post on an earlier thread:
"Although I have disagreed with a couple of his moves (no Thursday night game this year, Stick-it-In, Seth Greenberg), I think Jim Weaver has done a great job in his fifteen year tenure at Virginia Tech. Without a doubt, the athletic program has improved immensely in his tenure and he has the respect of myself and I'm sure other countless Hokies for doing his job with class and distinction.
It's incredibly sad that he's leaving his post due to health circumstances. Which is why I'm proposing the following challenge to TKPers:
SOOOOOOOOOOOO i need tickets to the UMD game, guest and student tickets... help a fellow hokie out?!
First post here.
Just curious, if we go to the ACC Championship and win, we go to the Orange Bowl, right? But if we lose, FSU goes to the National Title Game, assuming they win out.
So which ACC team goes to the Orange Bowl if the winner of the ACC Championship turns down the Orange Bowl bid for Pasadena? Is it up to the Orange Bowl Commission? Whoever will sell the most tickets?
(More importantly, why hasn't this been a problem before?? Gotta love the ACC!)
So, we lost to Tennessee's Smokey...but we're still in third place. It's okay, because we beat Miami.
This week we face the Red Raider of Texas Tech, who, incidentally, is in 4th place. Let's kick his ass and maintain our spot at number 3 with one more week until the playoffs.
I'm not sure how Tennessee came back and beat us after we went up by a bit in that last matchup, but it may have something to do with UT fans being upset at losing to Auburn, and all of our fans getting drunk on excitement after taking it to Miami.
FYI Green Bay vs. Philly.
Dem hokie boys is ballin' this weekend!
Guys. I love all of you and I love this team. I don't care if we lost to duke and BC.
We beat Miami. #11.
I'm drunk.
We could easily be a one loss team right now.
Can we ever become a Stanford / Alabama on a consistent basis? Do we have all the coaching elements in place now? Is it only a matter of getting the recruits to Blacksburg? Can we get the right kids to Blacksburg?
Well, talk about building this game up... But seriously our boys have to be prepared to play this week, this is a HUGE game on so many different levels and if we can come out with a win it will completely erase the last two losses and the fan base will be feeling good again! (aside from that I'd really like to seem winston vs hokie D). Fact of the matter is this game is HUGE. Its at Miami (which i still think is complete and total BS) and its a true rivalry that has been reinvigorated since Al Golden has taken over (gotta hand it to him I think he's one hell of a coach). Our boys have to come to play!!!
Week 11 and it starts off with a double barrel barrage on Thursday. This might be the best Thursday night of games on paper ever. Two top 10 matchups that will define the march to Pasadena, though no in the SEC cares. Personally, Can't wait ... CAN'T WAIT.
^Smarter than you.
Is this the Stanford student section or remake of Revenge of the nerds? Be careful how you answer this, you'll either be working for them in a few years or they will be collecting all your personal info with their hot new, social media startup. Either way, they are totally pulling a Georgia Tech and studying during the game, #amirite.
This Week's Games:
I find this post interesting: http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/62857/winstons-bad-game-still-look...
Winston gets some garbage for throwing two picks. But my my he still won in a blowout. It is nice to win games. Quite a contrast with the Logan Thomas debate.
If anybody is in the Raleigh Durham area this Friday evening, the ladies will be footballin' at the Cary soccer complex at 5:30 in the ACC semifinals. They take on the #1 undefeated Hoo chicks.
The ladies are ranked 5th in the country, and yesterday's win over Notre Dame was the first time they have busted out of the quarterfinals since 2009.
If you can make it out, you are guaranteed NOT to see one slow developing read option keeper.
I remember after watching the Hokies get destroyed by Peyton Manning and UT to end the '94 season, then lose to BC and Cincinnati to start the '95 season, that perhaps we were going back to the 2-8-1 days. It was over.
But it wasn't. At the end of that game vs. 'Nati, I never would thought while standing there in Lane that day that I'd be in the Super Dome a few months later watching the 'Horns go down.
From the moment Logan Thomas filled in for a single play as a back up and completed "the pass", he's become the most talked about figure on the team. Over the past two years, probably as a result of him not fulfilling what were irrationally high expectations, he has become very polarizing and I believe the hour following the loss to BC is the worst I've seen it. Numerous people I follow on Twitter immediately began tirades that followed either of two narratives:
That is the problem. He has freshman at wideout & TE, a none existent running game, and a makeshift offensive line that has been ok. Loeffler has to put everything on Logan because the supporting cast is just not there yet. Because of this our offense will go as far as Logan will take it. If he has a bad day then the entire offense will not be successful because he is our leading rusher and passer.
So we lost to BC on the football field, but destroyed the BC Eagle for the challenge.
This week we face good Ol' Smokey of Tennessee.
I was going to write a long post on this but I got too frustrated to actually write it out nicely so here it is in paragraph form.
Call me crazy but I really think we beat da U next week. The main reasoning other than being a foolish optimist and a blind homer is Hokie D > Miami O. I see a low scoring game with lights out team Bud performance. We need the D to score one (very likely vs this Miami team) and hope our offense doesn't return the favor. I've come to accept that we are a middle of the road team in total but we do have enough talent and determination to take down an average Miami team. This is the type of game the Hokies win each year that gives us hope and expectations for greater success. Duke and BC are the games that bring us back to reality! I view this as our biggest game of the year.
