Here is the official release from Virginia Tech.
The Virginia Tech football program will welcome seven new scholarship members to its program when it re-convenes Monday afternoon for a team meeting to begin preparing for the 2013 season. Those seven players are three recent high school graduates: defensive back Brandon Facyson, offensive lineman Parker Osterloh and quarterback Carlis Parker, along with 2012 signees Woody Baron, Seth Dooley and Jerome Wright. Additionally, Fork Union prepster Jonathan McLaughlin, who gave a verbal comitment to the Hokies in December, joins the squad. All seven begin classes Tuesday at Tech.
Baron and Dooley both signed with Tech last February and deferred their enrollments to this semester. Wright also signed with Tech in 2012, but went to Fork Union Military Academy for a semester.
Facyson is from Newnan, Ga., and played at Northgate High. He is ranked as the No. 25 cornerback in the country and the No. 39 player in the state by ESPN Recruiting Nation. Osterloh is an offensive tackle from Williamsburg’s Warhill High. He is rated as the No. 45 offensive tackle in the country by 247Sports. Parker is a quarterback from Statesville, N.C., who is listed as the No. 17 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 21 prospect in North Carolina by Rivals.
McLaughlin is the only new name to Tech fans as he committed to the Hokies just last month after signing with East Carolina coming out of high school. After a semester at Fork Union, the offensive lineman from Mauldin, S.C., chose Virginia Tech. He is ranked the No. 27 prep player in the country, the No. 3 prep offensive tackle and the No. 19 prep player in Virginia by 247Sports.
Because Facyson, McLaughlin, Osterloh and Parker are enrolling in January, none will sign a National Letter of Intent. Baron, Dooley and Wright’s NLIs from 2012 were still binding. Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 6 this year.

Comments
Jerome Wright is listed as a LB on Fork Unions Roster
Hopefully he can provide some depth, he's listed as 6'2 225 pounds https://docs.google.com/a/vt.edu/viewer?url=http://www.forkunion.com/sit...
Says McLaughlin "signed" with ECU...
But it also says that Baron, Dooley and Wright's NLIs were still binding. What allowed McLaughlin to change his commitment?
Just trying to learn more about the recruiting process, and some of the rules and regs
It's the same situation as Drew Harris. McLaughlin and Harris both didn't qualify so they went to prep school. They were then released from their NLoI and will sign a new one this recruiting cycle. Baron, Dooley, and Wright all agreed to postpone enrollment until the Spring semester. Therefore, they are eligible, but just didn't enroll until later and this still bound to their NLoI
Main one I was confused about is Wright, since he, too, went to prep school. Did he qualify last year but just choose to postpone his enrollment and go to FUMA to have something to do?
He was asked to greyshirt. Basically, they postpone enrolling until the Spring. They can take classes at a prep school if they wish, but that's their choice. They are academically eligible to enroll in the Fall but wait so they are still bound to their NLoI. Hopefully that makes a little more sense.
Example of Greyshirting vs Prepping
Baron, Dooley, & Wright= Greyshirts signed last yr but count to this year scholarship totals (way for teams to work around ncaa scholarship limits)
McLaughlin & Harris= Prepped able to sign new NLI's
Know a close friend of Seth Dooley's. He will arrive at 6-5 250+ with some speed. Lots of potential. Good kid too.
Does this sentence confuse anyone else?
He is ranked the No. 27 prep player in the country, the No. 3 prep offensive tackle and the No. 19 prep player in Virginia by 247Sports.
If he is #27 in the country and #19 in VA, does that mean 18 of the top 26 players in the country are from VA? Am I off here?
Might just be that some of the top prep schools for athletics are in Virginia. Makes a bit of sense, since most prep schools tend to be military-related.
There really aren't that many prep schools. Kansas has a couple and there is also Hargrave and Fork Union here in VA. I don't know exactly how many and where they are all located, but it is quite possible that he is the No. 19 prep player in VA while also being the No. 27 prep player in the country.
Think you might be thinking about JUCOs in Kansas.
Of this year's Rival's top-25 Prep School recruits, they are all from FUMA or Hargrave in VA, or a school in Atlanta or New York. Looking through the last few years show a few more schools, one each in CT, MA, and NJ, but nothing from KS.
But Kansas has a few noteworthy JUCOs.
You're correct. In my mind I was thinking them as the same even though I know they are not. Whoops.
18 of top 25 Prep players are from Hargrave or FUMA (Rivals)

Was just coming to share that exact link and share that exact info. +1 for beating me to it.
Ah, for some reason I read Prep as HS. Everything makes sense now...
Keep eyes on
the OL commitments. I am curious to see if they will develop quickly enough to compete for the #2 and #3 spots.
What I am hoping is with Grimes in the fold, he will push the OL to compete against each other rather than to keep the "seniority" mentality going on.
Example, I hope that Grimes send Wang down to scout team where he will not see the sun shine again, and for goodness' sake, please start Gibson! I have heard enough from French to have me convinced that Gibson is bad-ass enough to crush somebody.
Dooley is another interesting prospect who could compete for playing time. All I have heard about Dooley is he is a workout animal. Possibly the next Jeff King? That would be awesome.
Carliss Parker is a name I was told to also keep an eye on. If he's as good as some folks says, I wouldn't be surprised to give Leal the run for the back-up spot. I think, though, he might be moved to receiver.
I'm effing excited about spring camps. I know I'll be wearing out my iPhone battery keeping up with Tweets from Andy Bitter about the spring camps.

What about...
Thomas Smith?
After this year I'm excited/anxious to see what O-line talent we can get.
