Hearing about the Commonwealth Cup even makes them debate the relative merits of BC vs UConn, because of the relative strengths of their basketball teams? This is a real topic that exists. One commenter said UConn doesn't make the cut academically. Another commenter immediately suggests WVU as having been a better alternative.
And because everything comes back to basketball, of course there was commentary regarding the Hokies' MSU win yesterday. This poster even said a Very Nice Thing! I wonder who the other three are on his list.
Keeping with the basketball-related-football chatter, this guy must be talking about "calendar week", because the Pitt football, MSU basketball, and UVA football games are all within a seven-day span, and we already won the first two.
Fact: we know this because we've held the cup for 5476 days and counting.

I think all the talking heads believe we will win this game. We are trending up and our defense is playing lights out. I don't know what UVA is doing. They may not being down per se but they aren't fire either. And everyone knows Bryce Perkins is their offense. You stop him you stop them. I don't know how their defense is but we just did pretty well in a good downpour against one of the top defenses in the nation. And on that note, that idiot calling one stat of low passing.....because it was raining pretty good....is a moron. Plus if you can't stop the run why am I going to stop running. I hope we smash them into oblivion.
Also an interesting note is that everyone talks of how elusive Perkins is, which he is, but no one is talking about the mobility of Hooker. I don't think HH is as elusive as Perkins but he's no slouch either. I'm waiting for him to break one.
Hendon Hooker attempts: 20, 27, 12(injured), 23, 13 (blowout/shutout), 13(shutout). He averages 18 att a game with one half game and two shutouts. If this is a bad thing then I like bad things. Also Hoos bad at math.

Seriously...if we beat them this Friday when could any objective fan of either school see them beating us again? Yes, they're getting better as a program but we are on a serious upward swing since Duke and have to be considered a Top 15 team to start next season. Our future is a lot brighter than theirs.
And they lose Perkins..... What honestly is going to give them any hope as to having a winning season next year? Their recruiting has been pedestrian at best, I see them plateauing below where they are this year.
