Considering we're the number two college town in America, I call bullshit.
In have to say, I would be pretty damn surprised if this sort of thing ever happens at another racetrack. Personally I see the Battle at Bristol being way more about the location than any sort of inherent brilliance in the idea of football games being played at racetracks. Bristol is just the perfect place for a game between VT and Tennessee, and it's been Bruton Smith's dream for years. If it takes a guy that rich and powerful with this much passion for the idea this long to make it happen, I don't necessarily see history repeating itself elsewhere.
Of course, I've been wrong before..
Third string as a redshirt freshman behind a redshirt senior and redshirt junior, respectively, both of whom have game experience and had good springs. I'm not seeing anything particularly damning of Andrew in that scenario.
Brings up a good point. Stiney was a pretty good OL coach, but his lines were a step down from J.B. Grimes' in my opinion. You're probably right, though, Randall's lines were serviceable at the least.
I'm intrigued by the prospect of having a dual threat QB behind a competent offensive line. We have not had that since MV7.
Whenever I read an article of yours, I'm all like,"I know, right?" Never seen it done better.
Is Reavis our gunner on punts? His open field tackling instincts kind of reminds me of Alonzo Tweedy.
My fingers are crossed that you're right.
Upsie daisy! Upsie DAISY! Who's a big boy? You're a big boy, yes you are!
I agree Lawson will have an easier transition to the college level, but to beat out a guy who has had four years in the system is a huge task. Not saying it won't happen. I WANT it to happen, because if it does that means Lawson is that damn good. I'll just be very pleasantly surprised if it does.
Right now, I think it's more likely that Lawson backs up Motley in '16 and is the starter the rest of his career.
I believe Durkin is a transfer or a move to TE used as a wildcat QB.

Wow. Supplanting a redshirt senior Motley? That's a tall order, considering they both have similar styles.
I've thought thus far the drawback in '16 might be the new QB, but given Motley's development he might be able to move into the role with minimal growing pains.
Center is NOT a position where I see a second string contributor. Pray for Gallo's continued good health.
I think the offensive line will have its moments but I also think that if any of the starters get injured then we are in huge trouble.
I think that's the case right now. But we still have summer and fall to develop the second string linemen. I don't think we're going to be three deep at every position or anything, but I did see promising signs from Team Pylon's spring game performance that there are maybe 3-4 possible contributors beyond the starting five. I'm admittedly a layman, though, and look forward to French's appraisal of the second string.

Class is in session.
Ha! No, I figured you were the fairer sex from the OP. I was saying Teller himself looks like the next generation of Hawk or Animal.
Who, if anyone, from the second string O line looks to be progressing enough to be ready to contribute come September.
I imagine it drew a reaction from those in attendance at the spring game.

Get this man some of the spiked shoulder pads from the Legion of Doom.
Devil's advocate, if two staring linemen go down with significant injury, this offense might look like last year's real quick. Stacy Searels' objective is clear between now and September: develop the second string.
I hear ya. The last couple of weeks this place has been all...
Yeah, VTGuitarMan said above they really swapped the rosters around at halftime. Regardless of the "score," we can take away that the first team offense basically had their way today.

It is almost never called these days generally because when it happens, a lot of the time the lineman is pushing one or more defenders that are attempting to tackle the ball carrier. Linemen wait until they see forward momentum start to wane, and then they "throw a block" (i.e. push the pile toward the end zone.
My guess is if you saw a lineman straight up pushing a ball carrier toward the end zone like a battering ram with no defenders around, you'd see a flag. But the way the game is officiated today, so long as defenders are engaged in trying to tackle the ball carrier, O linemen are allowed to enter the scrum.
