I dont know how PSU does it but every year they basically only have 2 real games and can end up 10 and 2 with beating mostly bad teams. This year they would have to beat Indiana, but thats doable. How do they never get a murders row schedule.

So I guess the question for me is if the clock had run out on the play where the late hit was called, then would they have gotten another play? It just seems convoluted.

Is it sad I would rather watch end of Backyard Brawl than find our game?

Especially after they just announced this is last time until 2029 they are playing. A whole class at WVU and Pitt will never see a Backyard Brawl while in school.

It seems odd because then you just take cheap shots when there aren't timeouts. Seems like a bad rule.

Yes thats how I knew he left, I was ranked higher than normal and most of the people intront of my are well know so they're a bit obvious of they aren't there.

Yeah if Haynes King is upright against us we are cooked. GT will be ranked next week.

Pitt getting a lot of favorable calls in this one. The latest was a really really soft unsportsmanlike penalty on WVU that put Pitt in the Red Zone and led to a TD.

GT ending was fantastic. Sadly though it makes me not optimistic about our game vs GT

No the replay guy explained the rule. Said that since the penalty was after the play the clock would have run and rule requires 3 seconds to extend play since WVU did not have a timeout.

I agree with your sentiment though. Seems like it shouldn't be that way though. I imagine WVU will take that to NCAA to demand a rule change after season.

The penalty would have put WVU in FG range to boot.

Am I crazy, or is there not a rule that a half can't end on a defensive penalty? WVU gets a first down with one second left and Pitt is charged with a late hit unsportsmanlike 15 yarder. ACC refs say the half is over because WVU is out of timeouts and there isn't 3 seconds to snap and spike the ball. Don't the rules stipulate an untimed down? Must be the same crew that worked our Miami game last year.

I think context is important here. Do we scrape by a bunch of teams that are losing to everyone else, too? Or do we win several of these games convincingly?
If it's the former, then this is fool's gold and we shouldn't fall for it. The latter is I think a situation where it gets a little trickier and I'd hold until after the UVA game. But if we start 6-2 and finish 7-5 then I'm ready to move on.

But are you confident we could beat Delaware at this point?

check my own comment history, I'm not even 10% as active as i used to be. Plus it's not like there's a side chat going on outside of tkp

I mean is trying to conjure up some feel good nostalgia of the past with the Beamer era, even though that is long gone, truly what was best for the university? It was like a big stiff drink. Made us feel good for a while but masked the problems and now we're hungover. If someone gave me a $4mil plus a year contract with a buyout I'd hoot and holler about VT all day too. Doesn't make me a good coach or good for the job though.
