what's so disheartening is that i work with almost entirely git folks (other than me and a junior from clemson) and literally (LITERALLY) none of them cares about football, they're like stereotypes and allergic to sports and need diffyq as an epipen. our CTO was a student during their mnc and didn't even remember it.

Pitt QB out here missing receivers like Drones. Panthers should be up 14-0 but 0-0 after 1st.

Not really the last two seasons. Seems really rushed in his decision making this season and has had time to make plays.

Um, isnt that just how he plays?

Thing is most sports "journalism" is just being a conduit for well-placed access-controlled sources. ESPN is particularly bad about this. Most of their reporters are just press agents for CAA. And with gambling and sports books being inside the same boardroom as the broadcasters and the "reporting" orgs now the potential for some extremely shady stuff to happen is really concerning. Not to mention the ownership stakes that various outlets have in the leagues they cover. And I've been way way down on ESPN since all the Craig James vs. Mike Leach nonsense happened.

And sure, this is ultimately all entertainment and it functions a lot more like the talk show and Variety beat than just about anything else but still, given the money that's being siphoned off of people now... I dunno, it's just something that's icky and gross to me.

Klubnik got sped up by LSU and has not slowed down since. Lot of happy feet plays.

Yeah I didn't think he was getting up after that second down play at the end. He just laid there face down not moving for more than five seconds.

Thank you. Have not seen them play, but just the scores, man it seems like the offense must be quite bad.

No way VT gets that field goal off in 26 seconds.

Lmao. The sideline reporter at the end of the GT game there: "the students here are chanting your name, King. How does that make you feel?"

King: "I mean, it makes me feel good."

Top notch Q and A there 😂

Mix of both. GT should have already been ranked and Klubnik has looked pedestrian so far.

If Haynes King can make it through this season healthy, GT will be very dangerous. Huge IF though.

Part of me is like "well, a lot of teams are having terrible seasons"

And then I realize Clemson, Kansas St, Florida all probably still curb stomp us

I just caught the last 2 minutes or so. Is Clemson just not very good or is Georgia Tech actually good? Or maybe a bit of both? Did not imagine Clemson 1-2 and not even looking that good in the win.

Bahahaha, looks like Clemsoning's back on the menu, boys!

Barring those this game is already over

And their defense gave up a 3rd and 22 conversion earlier, which looked more familiar

I will say, since Andy Bitter has joined, TSL has gotten a lot better. More objective and he and CC have been a little more open and critical of the program when justified. I think now that it's official that Whit is likely gone, they feel like they can be fully transparent and not protect their access in the country club AD operation down there. Which I totally understand and I understand their frustration finally bubbling over and feeling like they can be fully honest on how just dysfunctional Whit/Pry and the whole operation truly have been. Maybe now that we are cleaning out the good old boys club down there things will be more professional and TSL can continue to be more objective and like a media outlet versus a fan site that is regurgitating the party lines.

I will say that 247 I think has gotten overall pretty protective of the AD/staff. I feel like the info from TSL has been more objective and transparent on the whole than 247 for several years now. I honestly wonder if some 247 scoops are actually OKe by Pry at this point.

GT has run some stupid 4th down plays today.

Shane has around $27M in career earnings through 2024. He should pass Frank this year, and still has about $30M remaining on his contract after this season.

Even if VT recruited itself, you double down on that by overhauling the department to maximize that advantage.

But that's just the story of VT through the years. An adamant refusal to exploit our strengths over the long haul and just allowing us to ride it out back to mediocrity
