I have sympathy for coaches/ADs who care about the university and community at large. I didn't have sympathy for Fuente because this was just a job to him. Pry and Whit have roots in this region and care about VT job or not.
That doesn't mean they should stay, it's a results business and the results aren't good enough.

He was at UCLA between App St and Tenn. I doubt he'd be competent in Bburg especially with our OL. That Tenn offense can make any JAG look good and someone with talent like Hooker into a Heisman contender.

On a human level, yeah it sucks anytime somebody's job is in jeopardy. But big time ADs and coaches like these who are making absurd money and then have a parachute when they're fired, I have no sympathy for. I do have sympathy for the small business owner or servers or retail workers who struggle or lose jobs that depend on thriving VT football and its economic impact to the region and the state. No sympathy at all when people making that much money are that inept. Wish them well but it's needed change.
If they had done that I doubt they'd have a business. They'd have no access press conferences or players, it would just be a blog with no sources and no real insight. The blog could complain about admin all they want but no one would listen or care. Nothing would've changed.
This isn't a Whit or VT problem, it's a college sports problem.
I think State is terrible. Wake did scrap a bit in that one, but Wake is seriously like FCS level, if they win another game all year that's great work by Jake Dickert. Delaware very likely gets them

See I'm not okay with that. Chris Coleman has been dishing on Pry, I guess he's got the go ahead now that it's basically over. Apparently we didn't start a single practice on time this offseason, all 20 min+ late. He said one of the media open practices started over an hour late.
That's not the only weird absurd thing that's happened with Pry's program. Work from home OL coach. Lack of halftime adjustments on either side of the ball. Now players getting "tired" or quitting, idk how you tell between the two. He needs to be out and winning a few cupcake games shouldn't change that.
I say fire him with 8-4 and I'm dead serious about that
Wake may still beat us if they play like they did against NC State on Thursday

Let's change it to 5-2. I put that as very likely. Like 40% chance. State is horrible, Wake is FCS level, Cal is Cal. ODU is probably second hardest game after Cal in that next stretch, and we get them both at home
Pitt now 2 for 12 on 3rd down and most of it is self destruction. Wide open receivers and the Cow can't hit them.

He wasn't ready to recruit at the Urban Meyer level that's needed to compete with Kirby. If Mark Richt level UGA coincided with Mullen at UF he wouldn't have been fired. He won the SEC East with a backup QB.
He'll need help recruiting, but I think he's wired to recruit well at VT. His recruiting floor is much higher than Fuente.
Well GT is good but the rest of the teams are a bucket of ass. GT game is looking tougher now but after the showing Colorado I was questioning if they were anything
Who knows. Our coaches are too busy believing drones is going to figure it out in his 5th year of college to scout for actual talent.

Vick got his first coaching win last week over Virginia State. This week they are being paid to lose to Rutgers but keeping it close. Rutgers got a blocked kicked turned TD but it's only 13-3 close to halftime.
Did we have the NIL money to compete with Tennessee?

Had they reported and been more concerned with getting news out, instead of retaining access to the sources, I don't think we are in this situation. Whit would have been called out years ago, Pry isn't our coach, and we're running the table annually in the ACC (or more)
