I have no doubt that Fuente had the right goal to start. But he's said that he thought VT was a school that recruited itself. Jokes on us, it very much does not.

# | TSL/Chris Coleman Predicting (reporting?) Whit to be fired The most damning thing about the Fuente hire is that I remember hearing Whit speak the summer Fuente was hired that part of the main focus of the new coaching regime was an intentional focus on recruiting, and that just never happened.
I do think he got sold a bill of goods regarding to what Fuente wanted to overhaul our recruiting profile. What Whit was excited about never ended up happening.
While I think the chances of us getting to 6-2 this year are on par with me winning Powerball*, if we get to 6-2, yes, I will be happy hold onto everyone and see how the rest of the season goes. I mean we would be one of the hottest teams in the country. Plus, I was expecting something like 5-7 this year. Already ahead of that and we'd have a great chance to win 7 and decent shot at 8-5 final record.
* I have not purchased a lottery ticket in many years, so my odds of winning Powerball are even lower than what you might think.

If they come out fired up, do not fold at the slightest sign of adversity and actually win the game by more than 7 points, I'll at least pay some attention going forward. If they play weak and lazy, fold up and lose (heck, even if they squeak out a win), Pry needs to be fired immediately, we name someone on staff interim coach, Whit is fired as soon as we can and we just have a caretaker AD until a new one is hired.
I don't feel bad for anyone making 7 figures. It's business, they won't starve. If you fail, someone is always there to take your place. I feel bad for people without options, not people in high profile jobs that can't produce.

I think he was also dealt a difficult hand with the most dramatic changes to the structure of college sports maybe ever. We're not the only school that has struggled to adapt. Apparently Alabama's infrastructure was based on Saban and they haven't adapted to the new landscape.

100% this. They also don't deserve this good of a team. For all the talk about GTs football history and their somewhat sleeping giant status, the fact is that GT football is an afterthought even for GT fans.

Arizona running back had like 220+ all purpose yards. He was great, Fifita was also really good. I would love to have Fifita as our QB.
