Love the idea of Glenn Schumann. Probably too young (only 35 years old) but his track record speaks for itself. Knows the region, learned at the feet of Saban & Smart, defensive genius, great recruiting chops (not that hard to recruit for Bama and Georgia but still).

My only draw to him is it seems like he could probably give us a dead cat bounce to ~8 wins. Which could be a reasonable way to "stop the bleeding" so to speak

They all quit after Pry punted on 4th and inches. The team, coaches, ball boys included. Everybody rolled over that and didn't even try.

lol...I've seen half the team(offense OR defense) not show up before ...but never literally the ENTIRE team. Even our punter-normally a solid kicker-seemed lost in the second half....Literally told my friend as we walked back to the parking lot that I think we could have called out 50 random seat numbers and that the people in those seats could've played the second half better than the team did.(and that's even if half the folks had been kids...or even empty seats...
Ooh thought of another possible explanation-it was all a video game and someone was playing on Vandy's side and had all the cheat codes and God mode turned on while the VT side was played by a combo of Helen Keller and the three stooges.....

Gundy is a legend, but this would be like hiring Frank in his last few years as a coach. If it stopped working at OKState, there's no reason he would find the secret sauce for success here. I want someone established, but not in the twilight of their career.
Looks like Gundy could be on the outs at OK State. I think he's a bit of a tool but had a pretty successful run at a school with a similar brand/profile to VT.

I think Fuente was already finding the adjustment to recruiting a totally different region of the country difficult at that point, and then he had to fire his best friend and right-hand man. He never had a handle on Bud's succession plan after that, all the way down to promoting a clearly not-ready JHam who pretty much got his college coaching career trashed as a result.
