People on twitter said the whole team was out partying at the bars.
Was there a curfew? If the answer is no, then I don't give a shit. I don't care that he went out partying, I don't care that he got drunk and I don't care that many within the team did as well.
What I do care about is that he got behind the wheel while impaired. All the other stuff is noise.
And what I hope the school learns from this is that the athletics department needs to in-house a form of transportation for athletes to use when they are drinking so this doesn't happen again.

IDK, I don't care about the drinking piece of this - seems par for the course to me. I care about the driving piece of it.
They're professionals, innocent until proven guilty. If an NFL player would still start, so should he.

Yes? Have you really never gone to a sporting event or a concert the night before work? Not something I do often, but yea, last year I went and saw Zack Bryan on a Thursday night, got intoxicated - did NOT drive - and showed up for work the next day. Was my job performance impacted? You betcha.
I agree with this but I think an important factor you're leaving out is that these young adults are getting paid obscene amount of money to go win football games. Being over the legal limit absolutely affects your body for an athletic competition a week later. It won't mean he plays bad, but it will affect preparation in the week leading up.

But a lot of them are making upwards of 200k and many of them more money, a lot more, than most of us on this board make. Am I going to do something that jeopardizes my job performance because it's fun?

Lots of oddities here. I said all along, Cunningham was better at tackle than guard, so him being at Right Tackle isn't shocking. All the other movement is. Ghannam was working on the left side, now he is right. Rimac back where he was at WVU. It doesn't look like Garrett has serious competition at LT if a R-FR is second on the depth chart, and Garrett is the big worry spot against USC-e.
Wide receiver was interesting. I don't think Seldon came home to not be a starter, but Heath seems to be a star of camp every year before getting hurt.
Defense is... interesting. Woodson's status is now in question with the DWI. Ellis moving to a STAR type position, along with Kaleb Spencer, takes two of the best open field tacklers on the roster and relegates them to a situational/part time role. Nash being at defensive end suggests he will play when they go odd front and he would be the five tech to the strong side. I think Laws may play in that spot as well given that he is a bit undersized. I also hope they can figure out a way to use Jason Abbey situationally as an edge rusher. I love his twitch.
At linebacker, I really like Santiago if he can hold up in his gap. He is a bit undersized. Short has some talent, but I didn't like his tackling at UNC and since he didn't beat out Keller, that feels like a bit of a red flag. Granted, Keller had spring with Sam S. as DC and Short didn't.
DB? Not seeing Dante Lovett as a clear starter and Williams as a clear starter was stunning to me. Caleb Brown felt like a safety net guy, not high upside, so I expected him to be the third guy. I would have bet a good chunk of change that Isaiah Cash would be a top line safety, but he isn't on the depth chart. Jordan Bass has jumped out with his tackling in space in the occasional clips of practice released on social media. With him being younger, higher upside, and from the footprint, I will take that as a good thing that he has passed Cash.
