Careful. I was at the last game that VMI won against us. Bad year.
Tough to say with a new coach and all the transfers, but man it's got to be better than last year right?
Even on Freshman you barely get 2 seconds after the snap before you need to scramble. The VT OL is straight up bad in that game
Another Battle at Bristol vs Tenn please
I think we should try to do a home and home with Maryland
Good news for you. Terps come to Blacksburg in '27 and we go there the following year
maybe we are going to the SEC!
Maybe they'll move up the Wisconsin games? /s
edit-damn it Maxandcheese - you hooked into my VPN....drinking
If this move is to get eyeballs on TVs then WVU makes sense. People care about that matchup and will be tuning in.
Who else would TKP like to see that's reasonable? I think we should try to do a home and home with Maryland and finally make the Wiscy game happen.
I know VMI is a very bad team, but I think it would be cool to have that matchup just because of history, but if it disappears I won't be too upset.
Seriously. It's just dink and dunk and RPO down the field. Mesh, stick, spot, RB screens, and RPO reads are all that reliably work.
WVU in Charlotte incoming. Not sure which season, maybe 2029 as we play the weakest 2 P4's that year.
I would assume in 2026 we bump JMU or VMI for another P4. Hopefully a big time opponent
Must need to clear up schedule space before our impending SEC invite.....

The new revenue sharing model factors in TV viewership. That's what will drive matchups. Not necessarily wins, but eyeballs and dollars that follow.
We need to aggressively schedule for success. That means dogshit OOC schedules that are purely home games that do nothing but inflate win totals. Make sure we aren't setting ourselves up for OOC disasters.
So with the "changing environment of college football", does this mean we will schedule beefier OOC games, or SEC approach of more home games vs weaker FCS teams for an inflated win total?

If NCAA 26 is to be believed, while we might have some playmakers at WR and RB, our offensive line is going to be so horrendous this year that whoever is at QB will barely be able to get to the end of his dropback before needing to scramble. Man, its rough trying to be the Hokies in that game
Hard disagree on an upgrade at QB. Castellanos is straight garbage. Even as bad as DJ Uiagalelei was I still think Castellanos is worse. FSU has almost as big a problem at offensive line as we do so I can't see Castellanos surviving that. BC had a really good line and he did moderately better than DJ stat wise.

Edit: Dammit! Beat me by 15 seconds! Drinks are on me

Yep, as an OOS kid from GA I heard all these people talking about Nova and was shocked we had that many transfers from a small catholic school in Philly
Up at 3:30 again this morning, air temp was 80.2 with soup-like humidity and met with my neighbor at 5. We fished the North River mostly and the slow fishing continued, following the trend this season. I did manage a couple of 15" specs and a foul hooked croaker and Paul had a bigger croaker and that was it for him. Normally, Paul would have tagged the fish and we'd release them, but the water temp was up to 90, and he didn't want to handle them any more than necessary to get them back in. I also caught another same sized trout at the Crazy Lady dock in the East on our way back to the ramp and 91+ degree temps. Best day I've had all year, I think. Paul said he has been tagging about 170 fish a year, but he's only done 20 this year so far. Things here are tough, fishing wise.

best news I've heard all week

Wow, totally forgot or missed that. It's been hard to look too far ahead for many reasons.
