Awesome! (the have at it part, not the VT is screwed part)

Sure - have at it- we are officially in the doldrums of collegiate off-season. We've got nothing else to talk about other than how VT is screwed because of (insert NIL/Donors-budget-spending/SEC-BIG/Nike deal/ACC GOR/Whit-Sands reason here). You'll be AMA #38

FWIW: I still find them interesting and have enjoyed reading each one. I don't know if I've been active enough in the TKP community to warrant an AMA, but I'd be interested in doing one.

It's crazy what happens when you give more resources to good coaches. Maybe the football program can learn from that.

This is what -could- happen when you hire a guy that has never been a head coach before. The list of "top" college basketball assistants that got the head job because they were seated 12 inches away from the iconic coach for 20 years that failed is long. Its not the same gig. Pry had zero experience, so we are surprised he's not winning 10 games? That's not logical or realistic. Would a Matt Campbell, PJ Fleck, Napier done better? maybe, but what you do know is that they had head coaching experience. Justin Fuente had that, but what he didn't have was recruiting experience at the P5 level when recruiting was 90% of the job- an era of insane social media, facilities etc and he never recruited against the big boys. If I were Whit, I would have hired someone with at least one of those two backgrounds vs. none. But hindsight is 20/20.

At this point recruiting to me is back to the late 90s. you start paying attention to the recruiting class once you see the list of signed players. No point in paying attention until then.

I have said before the NCAA traded and entire season of meaningful games for 11 playoff games. I would expect total viewership and attendance to drop off as a result and the apathy could creep to the playoff games as more and more fanbases realize their team may never have a shot at the playoff under the developing feudal transfer portal system.

"a better job of looking like we're trying."- we aren't trying and that is my issue. There are a million use cases out there for a non blue blood to win a team championship. We aren't interested. With fans as passionate and prideful as ours, that is the only conclusion. We are not the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical college anymore. We are in arguably the best olympic sports conference out there- yet we aren't interested in leveraging that competition to hire championship coaches or recruit better athletes. Proof is 100% in the pudding.

Was about to say exactly this. Step 1 in not embarrassing ourselves is to win a team championship asap. Or at least do a better job of looking like we're trying.

Anything that limits college football player movement, eligibility, money, etc. will be struck down by a judge. As with everything else, nothing in this fucking farce imitates real life/real world. In the real world there are actually labor laws, equity laws, legal non-competes, etc. Not in fantasy land though, so fuck the women. Football players need their millions.

No need to replicate the South, just widen the North and build it back to over the road. Can keep the road section outside the stadium if you want to maintain gate access. People would just wait in the shade under the north stands to enter.

but we do embarrass ourselves when we come out as favorites so many times and shit the bed in big games. So frustrating.

Give us a participation medal because we kept him in the boat for five months. Decommited this morning, leaving us with two recruits in the class of '26. One of those being a kicker. Everything is fine tho.
