yes im serious. Very strong "the players deserve theirs" sentiment on here. Also decent support for the whole VT- insert SEC school here- mission is to support big time athletics and academics is a smaller mission.
Comes from a winning program. There are not alot of things /noise that go on at NDSU that don't have to do with winning. Hopefully he can bring that here.

You have to be part of the Baller Industrial Complex of course: High school football coach now working at Lowes- NIL commisions pay better- Go Hokies. Uncle of a fast kid, Step Dad of a tall kid, Youth football coach that works at verizon- this pays better. Former teacher at "schools" read sports factories- Oak Hill, IMG, Fork Union. These are the entry level points to the Baller Industrial Complex. Its a huge industry.

whit is like our CFO- he cuts travel, pinches pennies, doesn't invest- so the bottom line looks fine. He never grows the top line- neither does Whit. And yeah, Whit is more CFO than athletic director.
~4 months later, doc says i've "moved the needle" such that it's impossible to justify considering prescription statin for me at this point. stay the course, be better at the exercise (need to get my knee fixed so it's not an excuse any more, that's a task for this summer) and reevaluate in 6 months.

# | An Incredible Weekend in the Swamp... and Some Honest Reflection as a Hokie I've been want to have a thread about this for a while, but Whit has been big on fund raising, yet it's been ineffective. Sure he brought in more money every year, but so did weaver. Donations has been something like (i don't have numbers infront of me) 24% of our revenue +/- 1% for as long as I can find data. We got more donations last year than any other year, yet it fell inline with our revenue at 24%. He is just keeping us at the level we've been at. But Weaver did the same. Whit was known for being a money guy yet he has failed at VT to move the needle.
I really only think four will get drafted unless teams take flyers on Felton and Strong. Was surprised that quite a few project APR as a UFA as well.
We had ten players drafted in the six drafts from 2019 to 2024, and likely six will be drafted in this draft alone. I agree it's not translating to the field for VT yet - that's the results thing I already mentioned. But it's still an improved evaluation of VT's individual talent from the NFL.
now THAT is how you kick off a season.

Your edit is the clue. Yep, they're feeding up but will still be found in proximity to their spawning site. Best bet is to assume they're in the eddies in general and go from there. I had a lot of go-tos baitwise, but it was dependant on water level and clarity. If nothing worked on the eddies, we went to spinnerbaits and suspending jerkbaits like the Lucky Craft Pointers, but mainly this time of year, they were in or around those eddies and my go to evolved from jig 'n pig to big tubes, but in the end, my biggest fish guiding all came on Mizmo Teaser Tubes with custom jig heads. These came to my fishing via clients who fished yearly with Ken Penrod on the Susquehanna in March. The heads are made by Johnny Cunningham who runs a campground at the confluence of the Susky and the Juniata in Duncannon PA. The proof was in the pudding, and those little tubes were incredibly productive for me. This time of year on the New, it was one bait that I knew would catch the big ones with the added bonus that when, not if but when that musky takes off with it, you can afford to put on a new one without dinging your day with losing a $16-20 lure. I also believe in relatively light line. I seldom used anything but 8lb test mono and while muskies are an iffy proposition anytime you're bass fishing, breakoffs were rare and generally angler error. Nowadays, I'd probably end up with braid and a flourocarbon leader, but back then, Bass Pro XL (or was it Excel? One Berkley, one BP) was cheap quality line I kept fresh through the year and never had reason to change. Not because it was cheap, and all of my clients would have to attest to the fact that I didn't skimp on anythig when I was guiding, be it line, rod&reels, baits, lunches or my most exellent Maravia raft.

Mon Mothma is super qualified. Genevieve O'Reilly's performance is phenomenal...the nuance in her facial expressions throughout these three episodes is so great.
