Star skill players can only get so much done when the offensive line is a sieve that is barely being coached. The narrative that a few select players being good to great should make for a winning team doesn't hold up. Otherwise, Miami would have been amazing for the last 20 years, and swimming in ACC championship trophies. Instead they have zero championships, and a flukey record.
The reality is that it takes a team, not just players, to win football games.
The decline in the late Beamer years also coincides with some less than stellar offensive line coaching and play. Had that been better, it could have offset some mediocre playcallers. Newsome was the beginning of the end for Beamer.
I loved them as well and had been looking forward to this for months. First 3 episodes probably more set up for the next 3 parts, but still plenty of action.
Boss Bitch Dedra with Syril's mom might be my favorite part of the first 3 episodes.
I don't think anyone here is pretending that the current state is healthy for the sport or VT - but I think the majority of us have accepted the reality that it just is what it is, and there isn't much point in acting shocked or getting so worked up about it every time someone enters the transfer portal ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ

What baits you throwing for spawning fish? Any particular tactics for bedded smallmouth? Don't have much experience fishing the spawn in rivers.

if only. We're going to suck next year, and the year after that, and so on and so on for perpetuity - that's just where we are at the moment. The administration either doesn't care or doesn't have a clue - we're nowhere near top flight programs and we just can't compete - we're also stuck in a dead conference - a conference that our own administration was happy enough with that they thought it was a good idea to add Cal, Stanford, and SMU to effectively cinch the noose of the ACC anchor around our own necks at a time that there was a glimmer of hope of dissolving the conference and getting out from under the GoR with a simple majority of teams agreeing to leave simultaneously. It's a goddamn shit-show in the ACC and our administration is a contributing factor.

I just don't see it with this current administration - they're either completely clueless, they have an idea what needs to be done but have no lead in their pencils, or they just flat out don't give a damn about being competitive in football (or any revenue sport, frankly). Of the three, I think the last option is most likely. Maybe I just think that because I don't want to believe they're completely incompetent. That said, "do not attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence", so perhaps it's more likely one of the first two. Who knows?
I won't go on about this here, as I often do go on, but if you are near the New, you should be fishing. Big fish in pre-spawn, right now. if you want in, get a guide yesterday. It doesn't last too long.

I thought this was the consensus about the decision to let coaches go after the season. Everyone knew changes needed to be made in the staff and he made them.
I think he can be an incompetent football coach while realizing 6-7 isn't good enough and changed had to be made
Nice to pick up a win and hopefully some momentum going into the weekend series. I'm pretty sure that the ACC tournament format has changed for this year and all 16 teams will compete. The top 4 get a double bye straight to the quarterfinals, 5-8 a bye into the 2nd round. It will be single elimination with no more pool play. But, to your point, would be nice to get into one of the single bye seeds to need one less game to win it all.
