Sounds like that hasn't stopped the ACC in the past
Pry's first season at VT was 2022, so any of his HS recruits would have been sophomores at best last season with players like Delane, Chaplin, Phillips, Stroman all transferring out to P2 schools..... seems to have done pretty well with the young talent that was here when he arrived and it will remain to be seen how his recruits develop. The real challenge from Fuente was a huge lack upperclass talent and a set of weak recruiting classes leaving pry with lots of projects. The fact that Pry took those young projects and turned some of them into valuable P2 targets and has been getting transfers into the NFL (transfers that many on here complained weren't any good or worthwhile as transfers bc they were from lower levels of football) is a good thing.
We have to be better at recruiting and retention, but many of the position groups have been progressing well. The gaping hole of OL development has been a real failure, but hopefully that is under control moving forward.
Hope it's enough to keep Lawal at a minimum

I completely agree. Ultimately, this will be good for FSU, Clemson, and Miami, and bad for everyone else.
Speaking of lopsided schedules, did anyone else notice the number of schools that played 8 home games last year? How the heck does that work?! Penn State was one. Oregon was another. Not sure if this is just a BIG10 thing, but we need to get on board the 8 home game train.
We lose any close game we are in, so bringing that win total up is kinda hard.
The only legit NFL players we have had since Beamer retired have been transfers. Think about that. Pry and Fuente are not elevating the HS talent on this roster in any meaningful way.
A fucking conference of schools in ON PURPOSE giving members a competitive advantage over the other members. ON PURPOSE creating an unfair playing field. Why not allow Clemson and FSU to play all of their conference games at home? Why not allow them 12 men on the field on offense? this is NO different. None. You are openly giving them more money to buy players and coaches. That is even worse than all home games. This is a total fucking crock of shit. If I am Duke hoops- I go independent like ND football now- 100%
The "Brand Recognition" might favor Tech next season. We have games against USC(E), FSU, Miami, and Louisville. Each of those games should be a decent TV draw.
Beyond 2025 though, I don't see this as a positive.
Is there any place in this conversation where it's appropriate to bring up the question whether Gault was really a bad S and C coach? I mean these guys are killing it on the national stage. But then our o-line was so non-conditioned, I guess.....

Our airbnb is almost deadsmack in the middle between Barefoot resort and Pawleys. I'm looking at booking Barefoot Fazio on Friday, Pawley's Saturday, and Blackmoor early Sunday (it's very close to our airbnb). Some folks that are driving back Monday are interested in a small group playing another round Sunday afternoon. In the interest of convenience, it looks like International Club of Myrtle Beach would work (I know TPC is also close, but prices are above what we'd like to pay by a fair amount).
Any thoughts/feedback would be awesome.

anything over an equal share is horseshit and will kill the conference- everyone knows this. This is no different than giving FSU and Clemson 98% and splitting 2% among the rest. It's unequal and not a conference at that point. We should leave and let the lawyers work it out later.

This new revenue-distribution model -- or "brand initiative" -- is based on a five-year rolling average of TV ratings, though some logistics of this formula remain tricky, including how to properly average games on the unrated ACC Network
Sources have suggested Clemson and Florida State would be among the biggest winners of this brand-based distribution, though North Carolina and Miami are others expected to come out with a higher payout. Georgia Tech was actually the ACC's highest-rated program in 2024, based in part on a Week 0 game against Florida State and a seven-overtime thriller against Georgia on the final Friday of the regular season.
Basketball ratings will be included in the brand initiative, too, but at a smaller rate than football, which is responsible for about 75% of the league's TV revenue.
Basically, ESPN is now fully incentivized to only air games for the teams they want to bring into the SEC, and those schools will get propped up with bigger payouts due to having higher ratings (can't have lower ratings than schools which aren't broadcast). Everyone else will get shelved to the ACCN, ESPN+, CW, etc, taking home pennies on the dollar from the TV deal.
That 2nd section of 3000m guys is stacked. I think George Couttie has a really good shot at scoring points.
We can't defend NC State- so that scenario is out.
They are still going to have us as first four out unless we win at least 2 games in the ACC tourney. But I am glad that our Q4 loss was removed.

They updated NET through yesterday and we stayed at #47 but our Q4 loss moved to Q3 so our updated metrics are 1-7 Q1, 4-2 Q2, 3-2 Q3, 10-0 Q4.
