My bold prediction for the offense this year under Montgomery - I think Kyron Drones is going to have a monster year and develop tremendously into a higher volume and more efficient passer with Montgomery's coaching.

I choose to believe this statement.

Yep- 99% of Duke and Stanford's football and basketball teams would not be admitted to those schools on their academic record. To pretend that the opportunity to get an education from there is worthless is bullshit. I'd argue its invaluable for a kid with marginal HS grades to get a degree from Stanford, since 99.9% of them don't make the NFL or NBA. To pretend that is not worth anything is total horseshit.

ESPN's game recap had this nugget -

Virginia Tech's first-half point total was the lowest scoring effort by a BC opponent in the shot clock era which started in 1985.

When obscure not-good stats like this start popping up my interest in the program goes from negligible to non-existent. If Pry is on the hot-seat right now then CMY is riding shotgun with him.

Winning in Conte Forum, at Heinz Field, at the Carrier Dome and anywhere vs. Louisville men's hoops is simply a bridge too far for VT athletics. It's simply too much for VT athletics to handle the past 40 years. BC was 2-12 in the ACC and there were 6 fans there, and we got blown out. We lost to Pitt in Heinz the week after they lost to youngstown state. It took a historically bad season from louisville to squeak one out against them after 30 years. Its simply too much for VT. Last night the prime fucking example losing to a total shit BC team in front of nobody. Literally no other ACC program has any regular issues with any of the above. Nobody has trouble beating Pitt in Heinz. Syracuse loses games at the dome every year. Tony Bennett never had a problem with Louisville. this list goes fucking on. Maybe the next AD can help cross these impossible bridges.

Except when they hold States in Virginia Beach, or at least my senior year when I swam at States. The RECenters they hold meets at are 25m.

Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) is 25m except one pool IIRC. I don't know about other summer leagues.

I don't think I ever swam at the MoCo pool but I swam at the PG Aquatic Center in Landover.

Typically, meters is out doors, yards indoors for short course. Olympic is 50m however what most forget is that it is 25m across and lots in the US are 25y across so not officially olympic sized.

These are US rules only, the rest of thenworld uses meters and pretty much only meters.

Edit: to add to this, in competition in the US 25m is rare-ish. Summer leagues do this but once you are in USA swimming (year round) or Masters swimming you don't swimming a lot of 25m races. It's why I'd always go to the meet in at the montgomery county aquatics center as they would have it at 25m and I could get national top ten finishes because there were so few meets. Heck I swam next to a woman that set the national record for 100m short course fly in that pool (national record for 75-79 year olds)

"I watched a little bit on ACCNX and I have to say the 25 yard pool just looks so short. I didn't realize that the events were measured in yards instead of meters."

There are short course and long course pools with different ones built to be yards long and others built to be meters. Not sure if there is a standard for the NCAA or if different venues have different pool lengths, but my daughter's travel team would have different meets that were X-many yard events and others that were X-many meters.

Pop just seems like he had such good field awareness. Right now if Drones could improve his accuracy and deep ball, he would be incredible, very high upside immediately. Pop seems to have a higher floor but needs to more bulk to survive a whole season. I suspect Drones will start the season, but if he's not rolling and looking comfortable in the first 4 games, Pop will be getting minutes.

I am sad to say that I watched the whole game. We looked absolutely gassed from the first minute. Is the whole team sick? We just got plain out hustled on both ends. Weak passing, lots of slapping hands everywhere getting take aways and not a single screen set by our team that worked as it should have. We play like that for the last few games and we will tumble below that cutoff line for the ACCT. I get the feeling there was something happening in the background with this team and chemistry that we have no idea about.

I dunno, the staff and even Montgomery are sure talking like Drones is QB1. I truthfully would like to see what Drones can do with better QB coaching and a simplified pass game with 1-2 reads and more quick routes. Montgomery even offered Drones out of high school so he must see something in him.

Pop is a fan favorite but other than looking good against UVA, he struggled against Duke and again in the bowl game. Makes some exciting plays here and there but I'm just not seeing it.
