I dont count the AVP abomination - I'm not sure Fox does either when you look at the conflicting dates of events that AVP outlined, and the ones Prometheus introduced... buts that's for a totally different thread.

# | Dept of Ed: NIL payouts from school are "financial assistance" which are subject to Title IX. At a guess, probably not. I haven't checked, but I suspect the IRS is going to treat NIL compensation as passive income, so it won't be eligible to contribute to a tax-advantaged account.
Even if they do consider it earned income, contributing $7k* a year to a Roth IRA is barely going to make a dent in the payments some of these kids are earning.
*Indexed for inflation when the IRS feels like it.
the area below the dam is good, but haven't moved many fish there.
I caught quite a few musky between the boat ramp and Claytor and Little River dams, much more enjoyable than fishing the crowd at Whitethorn (but that's minimal during the winter) the draw back is the musky water down stream from that ramp isn't great, the water is relatively shallow with a couple holes here or there all the way down past Bisset. I didn't usually fish hard for them again on that float until I got down past the rail road trestle above the golf course then that stretch to 114 was alright.

I'd pay a bargain-bin price for the ACC to watch Hokies, for the front of the jersey. And not pay a penny for the SEC or Big Ten packages. I'd be happy with that, which almost guarantees that this won't be the end state.

Follow up question as it's been a few years since I've been on the New. I recall kinda the sweet spot for fishing in the 4000 cfs flow range. Is this still accurate? What would be deemed a high value in regards to planning a trip? I know a bit high is better than a bit low in most instances, and clarity plays a big part.

I was thinking about trying to head out the next few weekends and chase some musky on the New. I like fishing Whitethorne but it always seems slammed. I've had decent luck around Bissett in Radford and keep hearing that the area below the dam is good, but haven't moved many fish there. I don't have the time or logistics for live bait so would be slinging artificials.
My good friend and occasional fishing partner has a river boat set up with livescope and too many screens to look at. I'd bet one could find some big girls holed up in the deep pools though that's not my favorite way to fish. Frozen rod eyes and fingers will lower my standards in hurry though.
Good to hear the fishery is doing well. If I get up that way I'll post a report.

Soon SEC football will be a separate package/app like Thursday night NFL football is. The super bowl will be a pay per view event in the next 5-7 years. Larry Scott was a few years premature in his idea- which will ultimately come to pass because of the machine needing its fuel- the multi billion dollar CFB machine. Michigan OSU will be on a paid app in the very near future.

It's good to know that Pry's strategy is "We found this kid Tuten from NC AT that can tote the rock, this will work every time we reach for a player at that level". I like this. I see big things in the future.
I liked TKP offseasons where the threads would devolve to mayonnaise better than this offseason where we have seemingly the exact same sub threads in every single football topic.

yeah, I don't think this will happen purely because there are so many "casual" observers. I know several people who watched the MNC game who had zero ties or allegiances to either team or conference. They watched it because it was available to them. The moment that goes up behind its own paywall is the moment viewer numbers will absolutely plummet into the basement. These people wouldn't have watched or cared otherwise. They certainly weren't going to pay extra just for the privilege.
