Is it about playing time or $? I'm sure we offered pennies to the dollar for what UK threw at their women's program as part of hiring Brooks away from VT if we were even able to make an offer. As I recall, they backed out of their commitments pretty quickly after he left.

I wholeheartedly agree with that assessment, but I guess they would rather wait their turn to play for him than get early time with a different coach. I think Blue would thrive at VT; Silva I'm less sure about because of the pace,
I root against Kenny and for some of our former players. Dang it, I liked Amoore and Strack. However, Kenny is up to his old tricks, his bench gets very little time and I really wonder if Silva or Blue would have been better sticking with their commitment to Tech. Both would have more playing time than they currently do.
I root for Kenny Brooks to lose each and every game he coaches.
As much as I love college football, NIL doesn't serve any (even tangential) educational purpose.
My all time favorite was when Exchange would autocorrect "Pentium" to "penis" back in the day. It made for some genuinely hilarious work emails until MS added it to the dictionary. Ah, good times.
I watched some of the UK/TAMU game a week or so ago - a 61-55 loss to an unranked team. Still looks like they are vulnerable playing against an active/physical team, but crap there's a lot of talent running around in blue.
Good! NIL which is pay for play serves what tax-exempt charitable purpose under the IRC exactly? Tired of this crap hiding behind the guise of non-profit and higher education. Start treating these collectives as for-profit sports agencies.
The IRS is now actively denying 503(c) applications for NIL collectives.
The key takeaway from the IRS denial letters."By providing compensation to student athletes for the use of their NIL, you confer an impermissible amount of private benefit to the student athletes, therefore, you are operating for a substantial non-exempt purpose." https://t.co/a29Gc2GUkQ pic.twitter.com/lZzA2w1Jb5— Mit Winter (@WinterSportsLaw) February 3, 2025

Don't pain yourself to look where our former roster is. They put up 95 yesterday on the #13 team, 77 of the 95 came from former or committed players. Amoore had 43. Was waiting for another game to kick in and they hit me with the dagger highlights.
The only real question to the B1G and the SEC is when they are ready to expand their markets do they want UNC or NC State, and do they want VT or UVA. All I know is I want Stanford and California to do what they were invited to the ACC to do and that is nominate us for the AAU.

Miami, Clemson and FSU add nothing to the SEC. Big10 maybe. We add a whole new market to either conf.

Maybe this will be the year? Doubt it, but we can wildly high hopes. I am happy that we are already better than we were afraid we would be at the end of the year.
VT football players beat up students in the mid-late 70's, too. Always swept under a rug.

Now, we're receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.
All but 1 team ahead of us in the ACC is ranked.
