You make a good point and of all the negatives i had thought of, I hadn't considered that one .
Its a great concept- a safe car ride without an aggressive unskilled asshole person behind the wheel. But its not perfect obviously. Someone hacked the San Fran hub and all of the cars were honking at 3am. Nothing you can do until its fixed. Imagine a bad actor hacking it to slam into buildings at high speed?
Again, I have confidence that our university could figure it out. But we stopped inventing the future a long, long time ago
Culture isn't a buzzword, it isn't even a mindset. Its an environment defined by actions
Too often, people get that confused.
Yeah, I saw the clip of a passenger in one to go to the airport. The car got lost in parking lot of his hotel and just kept going in circles with the door locked. He had to call customer support and ended up missing his flight. No thanks.
Well in 7 days, we can start a new thread "Looking for a DC - February".

They are everywhere in downtown San Fran. Here in PHX, they have dialed back the territory considerably- basically the airport and central downtown.
FWIW, switching to page 2 adds "?page=1" to the URL. It's not a great answer, but you could manually type that at the end of the link in the browser to start on page 2. I've been leaving a browser tab open on page 2 and refreshing (which keeps ?page=1 in the URL), instead of clicking the tracker link again. This works to easily find new comments on page 2, but still has the opposite problem of marking any new comments on page 1 as read.
Yeah I was thinking something more along the lines of the driverless Waymo taxis in San Fran, Phoenix, and Arizona.
Shoot, even other VA state schools know how to navigate these impossible "state laws" better than VT. At this point I think its an institutional VT problem. They, like some other state agencies and organizations, probably have outdated or obsolete processes and ways of doing things, like hiring and procurement. Or a lot of times its gatekeeper people who have been in their positions forever and hold things up because "that's the way we've always done it."
I drink water or unsweet tea.
I was at that game. I remember thinking the same thing. Hilgart shouldn't be anywhere near a D1 program. His resume sucked before VT anyway. When you zone block on offense, it doesn't mean to play patty cake. Alex Gibbs broncos teams dominated people up front. Fuente thought that zone blocking meant "get in the other guys way". Clowns
FAM, they blew open a lead, lost a bit in the third quarter (what is it with that quarter and tech?), then roared back to a good lead.
Piedmont condos for the win. I took the bus in the morning to campus and walked home in the afternoon. Good three mile walk was great exercise.

I think the moment I was done with the Fuente era was watching us play Furman in 2019 at home. We looked like the skinniest, softest, most passive team ever just trying to play patty cake out there getting manhandled by Furman. And then ESPN does a big feature story on VT's viticulture program with a professor talking about wine tasting. I threw up in my mouth and said, "our transformation into UVA is now complete."
And don't forget "Cups''!
I'm a homebrewer and keg most of my beer. I started reserving one tap for carbonated water a year or two ago. I add a few dashes of angostura bitters if I feel like having a bit of flavor as well. It's really reduced my beer drinking.
Not related to the DC search and maybe more of a question/comment for Joe or one of the moderators - I typically use the Tracker list at the top of the page to keep tabs on various threads, which will tell me when there are unread comments, and then I typically use the "N" hotkey to go straight to the new comments within the threads. Since this is now a 2 pager most of the new comments are on the second page. When I open the thread it loads Page 1 so I'll need to scroll to the bottom and click on Page 2, but I guess it counts that as viewing the thread so then the "N" hotkey then doesn't work for Page 2 and I need to scroll through and see what time comments were posted to try and find recent ones if I want since none of them are yellow.
Is there anyway around that by having it load straight into Page 2?

Gentry was " out of touch, stale, not innovative" - meaning his teams rarely got pushed around on skates on the football field. Being out of touch really sucks.

I'm confused. What exactly do you expect to see from our new strength coach after 1 week on the job to set your mind at ease?
The results after 1 week? The video doesn't help us win, the content of the video does. Players getting stronger helps the team be better. What should our strength coach be watching tape of? Or do you think the entire football coaching staff got together to shoot, edit, and post this video?
I get being unhappy with the results from this past season, but picking this one video by our strength coach showing players working out as an example of how we're not good enough is legitimately baffling.
