I think its a combination of the last few games catching up to us and the swallowed whistles really helping UVA's physicality on defense to create turnovers helping them more than us

Based on timelines looks like promoted to Co-DC at end of season and then resigned in April after 4 months on the job. The point from DC still stands that the heir-apparent of DC was a scumbag who resigned in controversy and shame.

It's not willfully obtuse. Your entire argument was based on the similarity between this and his previous job. You didn't say anything about his salary relative to all O Line coaches. You also didn't take into consideration what I said about salary plus incentives.
Football scoop shows that Moore's salary was $440k at WVU (before he was let go this year). Crook's salary was $490k. Roanoke Times says Moore has a two year salary and incentives package worth more than $1M, so averaging about $500k per year (since it doesn't say how MUCH more).
Also, I can't find the other article I'd previously found regarding how much West Virginia owed him for terminating his contract for convenience. I think he was owed one year of his full salary, but if he was employed by another college, they would pay the difference (which was either $125k or $175k). Whit may have intentionally paid Moore less in his first year because his total compensation including what WVU would pay would put him at close to $600k, then bump his second year up to $600k, which would seem to align to what his known first year would be plus what Roanoke times reported the total to be.
If his compensation is around $600k, that puts him around 19th highest in the country, at around $500k (total compensation), would put him at around 31st. 31st isn't great, but 19th (there are a bunch all tied at 600k)is arguably where we'd want to be until we start winning more games.
That is the type of discussion I would have expected regarding O Line coach compensation to say whether or not he was underpaid, not a comparison to what he made at his last job.

All three of the automotive jobs I had didn't care or actively didn't look for people with ASE certifications for different reasons so I never went for any certifications even though at least one, if not 2 of them had a large ASE certification sign in the customer area. Also, I'm self taught so I never got anything from any sort of schooling. From what I've heard from most of the Techs of similar or younger age, that was the right move. An overwhelming majority found vocational schooling didn't really help them in the professional environment. So teaching probably isn't an option for me. Not sure that's what I'd really want to do anyways.
With that being said, if I have to go back into the automotive world, I'm right there with you and VTJ12, I'll be looking for fleet mechanics spots. I appreciate the stability over the promise of maybe if the wind blows just the right way under a full moon maybe I can make more money.

# | Dept of Ed: NIL payouts from school are "financial assistance" which are subject to Title IX. To me, since Dept of Ed wants to cal it " financial assistance" instead of a pay, it opens the door to the schools calling it a forgivable loan.
Ask one of the lawyers here but wouldn't that then defer the tax liability until the loan is forgiven. It would also create a de facto contract. "It's a loan if you don't stay for 4 years. It will be forgiven if you don't enter the portal."

Long way until September but I'm at 4-5 wins tops right now for 2025.
I guess I'll find out during the spring game bowl game.
Sorry, could not resist. Hopefully we can at least make it to a bowl game next season so we can have another game with half the team opting out.
