# | With all this defensive coordinator hand-wringing... why NO Culture Coach checks❓ I own the book myself and have read it. I'm just here to say that it's a great read so anyone who hasn't read it yet and would like a copy, definitely take up this offer
Galen Scott... you can google that
He sounds exactly like me. I appreciate the feedback!
What Fuente coordinator was fired in disgrace? He had exactly two, Foster and Hamilton. Neither was fired.
The guy who left that apparently had an affair, I think would have been fired, but I thought got to quit instead. Was there a scumbag I'm not aware of?
I don't think JHam was a scumbag, just wound up not being a good DC.
My sister lives over in West A just off Bee's Ferry so they're very close. Definitely going to hit Pamira the next time I am down!
There is plenty of blame to go around. Pry deserves a ton of it for bungling timeouts, allowing 18 duplicate numbers and not being sharp enough to monitor it, etc. Talent is a huge issue as well- we aren't nearly as talented as back then either.
Yup
And when the software takes a shit, or makes a significant upgrade, it's much easier and cheaper to swap those out than get a new tv
I shouldn't have to be Alan Turing to read these comments, bst
I agree it definitely is an issue and has been for years now with our S&C. But it's a global issue, I think Pry's poor game management is more to blame for all the losses in one-score games. But if we ever want to compete for a playoff berth, we definitely need to get a whole lot bigger and stronger.
Pads have nothing to do with it. Legs, thickness of upper bodies, etc - noticeably different. I saw Boise up close in the fiesta bowl- they are bigger than we are.
We stayed in Fussen last December. With over 2 feet of brand new snow, all of the trails and vantage points were closed, but the setting was magical.
Walked around the outside of Neuschwanstein and toured inside at Schloss Hohenschwangau (the yellow castle). Pretty interesting about the small walkways inside the walls that were used by the servants to stoke the fireplaces from the back side.
Found a decent brewery/restaurant nearby, Schlossbrauhaus Schwangau. The name sounds touristy, but maybe given the time of year or the weather, seemed to be a lot of locals.
The pads are much smaller than what they used to be which makes an enormous difference. But still comparatively to other teams, we look very undersized.
Will do - picking it up from BestBuy this weekend. From what I've read the default settings for TCL's kinda suck, but once you get everything calibrated, it's supposed to be pretty slick

My wife is type 1- adult onset and not obese at all. If she gets just a salad at a restaurant, her carbs shoot up. Eat at home people. Restaurants put pure sugar in everything.
Hard disagree. If you were ever near the sidelines in the mid 2000s and then back the last couple years- the team is small and skinny by comparison. Much smaller, much skinnier.
Fuente lost to 3-8 ODU, got shellacked by Duke, and his DC was a scum bag that was fired in disgrace. Fuck Barry Odom being any solution to anything. It's meaningless. He's just a guy. He's not Bud Foster.
Definitely is/was an issue, but I agree was not THE issue. You're not 1-13 or whatever it is now in one score games due to conditioning. That's game management.

I retract a little. How much of Barry Odom in 2019 may have been Whit thinking he was most likely going to have to let Fuente go anyway and preferring to save cash he could use for his next HC and his staff? I mean, maybe Whit talked to Fuente about canning Corny, Fuente said no, so Whit gave him a smaller budget? Plus, do we KNOW we didn't have the $1.2 and Odom thought Fuente wasn't likely to last long so he turned us down, not because of the money, but because he didn't want to be here?
Edit: didn't want to be here either because he didn't think Fuente would last more than a season or two so he'd be looking for a new job, or because he just didn't want to work with Fuente?
For the majority of us, we have neglected our health for years. We shouldn't expect to fix in a couple months what took years to build.
I find myself looking at the scale too often, so I only check it twice a month. If you're putting in the work to exercise and eat healthier, that has to be doing something positive. At least that's what I tell myself. Unfortunately, beer consumption is an occupational hazard for me...

Pretty winter morning; hopefully a good day get a DC
Thing is you don't fire a HC for clock management issues but you do a S&C coach when your team is gassed in the 3rd quarter, linebackers and receivers are weak and can't shed blocks and OL get pushed around like shopping carts...
Update:
As of 2025, my insurance company reclassified wegovy as a "non-preferred retail" and now its 60% coinsurance (so instead of $25/month, its $771/month). I'm not ready to go the compounding pharmacy route.
So that experiment was short lived.
Good news is I still eat decently and work out, so we'll see what happens....
Thank you all for the kind words.

Translation (I think):
Pry has set himself up as being a "culture" coach but it might not be landing with the rest of the team since some of our key guys entered the portal anyways, and in the meantime the Strength & Conditioning coach spot (one of a team's most important culture guys because he gets to spend so much more time with the players than the other coaches do) has been sitting empty for over a month.
