In the first year, you could see signs that they were being coached differently. There was more pursuit. More bodies were on the ball carrier. The BC game was pretty darn nice. Then the dearth of talent started to shine through.
I think Pry was doing the best he could with the bodies in the room that year. Dax was the last real linebacker (artis was there... I'd still love to know what was holding him back) we had in the middle. It's been downhill ever since. I think that shows that more Marve control, and a lack of the correct players were one of the big issues with our D. Pry has a chance to fix the coach problem quickly, and could fix the talent problem quickly via portal. If we have to wait on development, I don't think Pry has enough leash.

Beck is done for the season per ESPN. I think ESPN still would have found a reason to include them in the playoffs even if they had lost to Texas. Given what happened to FSU last year, under the same rules, would have the SEC conference champ who lost their starting QB have been punished because they were the same caliber team? I think we all know the Mouse's answer.

I think the biggest issue is related to points 5 and 7. This staff likely has one year to take a significant step forward and the biggest issue with the OL room is recruiting and retention. The upside to this hire is his recruiting ability, but we might never see that make a difference. Getting some of his guys to transfer could be a nice way to bondo, patch-kit, and duct-tape the OL until we improve our recruiting.

Like I said above... There's not $15m in NIL hiding in the UNC couch cushions, just waiting for Belichick.

There's been one contract that has been widely shared. It was for 5-star Nico Iamaleava, and it maxed out at $2m over 4 years.

Almost all these NIL numbers are bullshit.

With the money they spent on Belichick, they'll have to cut costs somewhere else. And if they're going to brag about the money they're splashing around, their recruits are bound to expect their fair share. So I'd expect some discontent from the "have nots" there.

Keeping it simple. Christmas eve dinner at home hosting my father in law and his girlfriend with a Mississippi Roast, potatoes, and broccoli/cauli/carrot medley.

For some reason, even though no one asked I'm making an apple pie. I'm not a baker and this has been not one of my smartest decisions, but I'm having a Templeton Rye neat now after the "1.5 hour" total recipe is finishing up about 3 hours later and my house smells delicious. I forgot to peel the apples before I cut them. My wife graciously helped me with the peeling of slices. Recipe was easy, user was stupid.

I just turn the volume off

And it wasn't as close as the 25 point loss indicated...
