the worst part is that SCAR is going to Beamerball us to death, almost certainly

PJ Fleck thinks the song row, row, row the boat was written for him.

Can we dust off Tom Coughlin and hire him as an advisor? Should guarantee a victory against UNC. I mean he beat Belichick on the biggest stage twice with arguably inferior teams. Just a bonus that Hoo Favorite Son Tiki Barber hates Coughlin too.

I'm starting to think my little redfish hole I've found (which is actually quite large) is just cheating. My past 4 trips out have been 25, 30, 50, 35 fish+ rising tides. On Saturday I just paused for a second when I realized there was a 300+ fish school just swarming my boat, was quite the sight to see with 7-8ft of visibility (absolutely insane for anyone that's fished SC coastal waters).

Funny story, last trip I was fishing live shrimp with my dad...must have worn out the braid on the rod I was using, hooked into a tank on the first cast and there goes my popping cork. Had a free school locator for the next 2 hours. It did eventually come free and I got my cork back.

As I sit here on a cold December day on a day-long teams call for grants, just after submitting my ballot entry for the Old Course Reversed, there's time to reflect on this past year of golf. I've was lucky to add a few top notch fantastic courses to the list played: Rehoboth Country Club, Tuxedo Club, and Ballyhack. Was able to string together 4 rounds that were all sub 75. And grinded out a 1 over par round in the member-guest during a deluge of rain to go from 4th in our flight to winning it. Here's to another great year in 2025 with many more rounds and keeping the cap in the mid single digits. Time to prep for Myrtle in March.

I'm in the same boat - I had already marked him gone in my mind assuming he was either going to the NFL or transferring to play his last year with his brother after we couldn't land him.

I think the coaching staff is a symptom of the real problems we have. We need to be treating the disease, not the symptoms.

He may go be rostered with his brother, but he may not go play with his brother, given his results this year.

In addition to the legs (both above and below), I award you ๐Ÿงฆ๐Ÿงฆ๐Ÿงฆ๐Ÿงฆ for that excellent dad joke!

PJ Fleck only wanted to play in Charlotte so he could row the boat at the US National Whitewater Center.

Does everyone now realize Pry is a fraud? Guy can talk but not much else. I think the secret is out now and players are bailing. Delane certainly had a disappointing year, but he has done nothing but regress each year under Pry. Would frankly fire him into the sun now, but with Whit at the helm and him tied to Pry, we have a lame duck year ahead of us. Going to be depressing watching us get throttled in the bowl and then Shane crushing us next year to open.

As for that former fishing partner, we no longer speak. He also owns the house next door, but thankfully only spends two or three nights a month there. He's a thin skinned asshole who's meltdown was a source of much amusement for me, though the confrontation was extreme for even him. He got a dose of strong medicine and actually was lucky for the plea deal that kept him out of jail, but the money wasn't enough to hurt him much financially.
And myself and now my current fishing partners all call the lady's dock where you had to deal with an abusive property owner "Crazy Lady Dock". And she is a lawyer, for goodness sake, and should know who was in the wrong and it wasn't you. And yes, we fish the dock anyway, and it still holds reds when they're in the river.
Lastly, my Claytor Lake buddy has been catching walleye, though the water is really cold up there in the hills.
One of my buddies here is going on a charter trip for rockfish tomorrow. They figure they'll have to go up to the Potomac to find them, and when he reports I'll let you know how it went for them. I was invited, but trolling is just not fun enough for me and other than the one guy, I don't know the rest of his crew, so I didn't follow up.

Is it really, though? Our starting CB getting drafted helps in the perception of VT. Our starting CB leaving via the portal does not help in the perception of VT.

I agree with you here. Though I think VT institutionally is too slow and reactionary to move that quickly, it makes sense from a financial standpoint. You're likely not saving much more than a few million in buyout money firing him now than a year from now, his coordinators included. The harm that another poor year will do will cost VT far more than that. And as you mention above, the job market is really set up nicely now. Next year there are likely to be a ton of high-profile openings, and we will fall down the pecking order very quickly.

But realistically, Pry isn't getting fired before Whit. Until we see notice that there's a new AD search going on, I assume Pry's seat is pretty safe.
