# | Virginia Tech Rights the Ship Against East Carolina, Beats the Pirates 54-17 This is a little off topic but I woke up hammered yesterday morning after a long night at Hokie House. I had a tremendous time at the game. I brought my co-workers and they had a blast.
I also met Seth Dooley and asked him if he fucks. He responded yes, he fucks.
I also got thrown out of Sharkey's at 8:45. I got too drunk to taste the chicken.
I swear, there was a time that i would be pissed that we were "only" receiving votes. I never thought I'd be this psyched to set us in that section. If we can get back to where we were, i swear i will never complain about any level of success again

Herman's bonus would essentially add 2.5 mil to his salary for two years. LSU can probably add 3 mil for longer than two years.
How do they not just stream this over the Hokie-tron just before Enter Sandman? Get the crowd ready to bust down walls then hit 'em with the entrance? The other team'll be lucky to make it to their bench intact.
I got tickets for this back in June it will be my 1st away game I'm totally stoked!
If VT wins a national championship or was part of the SEC, then there would be no reason to worry. Neither has happened yet, so unfortunately there are greener pastures.
The good news is, that I don't think Fuente has any intention of leaving anytime soon. He might get the itch if he wins a title.
We are a great place, if Fuente succeeds here there will definitely be Teams calling from sexier schools in sexier locations. Places like USC will call, but Fuente doesn't seem like the kind of guy to go there.
If he wins it all here, he will be a legend.
Being ranked means your highlights are covered. Being on tv is better than not being on tv. If it wasn't for Evans run, we wouldn't have made the national highlight shows at all.
Being ranked is valuable and we should treat it as a goal.
There is something deeply ingrained in our fan base to believe that we really aren't good enough. How many times did we hear in Beamer's final years that we'd better enjoy whatever success we got, because we'd never do that well under whoever took Frank's place. How many times have we heard we'll never bring elite recruits to a place like Blacksburg, as if we were outer Siberia. It drives me crazy.

It's early. In 95 and 96, the situation was the same, we had to work our way to the top 10. Let our play do the talking and the rankings will work themselves out. It's better to be the underdog.
We should also be honest, it was hot AF all day too, and the sporadic at best cloud cover can test even the best of us.
I immediately ditched my wool Highty Tighty Alumni Sweater and bought a 2XL Orange shirt for 5 bucks just to make it through the game.

I initially predicted 9 wins including bowl game. Now I'm thinking 9 win regular season. Between UNC, PITT & ND, we oughta to be able to win one. Last season, at times the Miami game was close.

That said, I'm worried about our running game. A slightly concerning amount of our run game has consisted of Evans running and one 70yd McMillan run. I'd like to see more consistent chunk plays on the ground from our rbs. Otherwise if Evans ever has a bad day, we could be in trouble against a peer level team

# | Ask TKP: A Quarter of the way through the 2016 season, have your expectations changed? Notre Dame is straight garbage. There are a lot more difficult teams on our schedule. I'm seeing a 4 win season and a clean house for them at the end of the season.
Seriously... 4 games into his tenure and people already think he's heading for the first opportunity available. Our fan base is so Damn Chicken Little over coaches. For 15 years we worried that Bud was leaving. He didn't. For 3 years now we've been reading that Buzz is gone. Still here. And now less than a year into his tenure, now we must worry that Fuente is gone.
Can we just stop with this shit? Seriously, can we not just enjoy what we have and not constantly worry that others are going to take it away? Shit I've even been seeing hand wringing about Whit leaving. This annual insanity needs to stop.
