Really like this post, and legs for days.
My only thought to the contrary is that there are many times the O is not taking what the D is giving them; our O is showing schemes, waiting for the D to react with the ace up our sleeve. Lure them to sleep with the run, go play action to the flat. Shut down the out, QB draw up the middle. Shut down those, and go back to speed option. On and on it goes. Although the play alternatives are vast, it all seems to come back to showing a relatively limited number of formations. Seems to me that is the only way you can install this diverse of an offense in such relatively limited amount of time.
A long, long time since I've been this excited about a Hokie's O.
Yes after facyson senior year. But thinking about it even now, mook is better than stroman or Adonis at the other corner. I know stroman got beat and Adonis is a long corner but I feel mook is much better in coverage. Not sure if Adonis could play Nickelwhip, or if there is any other option right now. I don't think we are great at depth right now so bud has to stick to what's working.
.................?
Former ECU HC giving VT, some love.

I'm thinking they let that guy out of Wittness Protection Program for a Saturday game.
You say the middle of nowhere and while the winters can be a little rough it's truly a great place, you get all seasons not just artic cold or hell hot, and really while in the mountains is not that far from anything really 81 is major blood line to the east coast and 460 runs to 64( while boring as hell) which will get you to the mid west quite quick. It's really the center of the east coast easy to convince mothers of sons from the south that at least it's not Michigan or Ohio, and mothers from the north that at least it's not Florida or Alabama, and it's easy to get to for a talented power 5 D1 school with a superb education to boot
You must have missed the 30 replays of Strohman's return td...
The SEC: Welcome to the pressure cooker, where the pay is high, but expectations are damned near impossible.
Miles is an incredibly overrated football coach. Few have done less with more talent (perhaps John Mackovic at Texas, all the coaches at USC since John Robinson's first tenure besides Pete Carroll or all the coaches at Alabama between Gene Stallings and Nick Saban.) He never worked to solve the problems they had offensively even in the best of seasons, and the fact that some of his huge risky decisions panned out doesn't mean they were smart calls. This guy will get a job in a P5 with less talent than LSU and he will stink up the joint. Mark my words.
5. Virginia Tech That's one way to end East Carolina's six-game win streak against the ACC. The Hokies stomped on the Pirates early and often in a 54-17 win, and man, that Justin Fuente offense sure looks fun, doesn't it?
They said our offense looks fun.
THEY SAID OUR OFFENSE LOOKS FUN!!!!!!!

Buyout dropped something like $10 million when Miles was the head coach at the first whistle this season. Very much a Mike London situation, where money overrode any displeasure with the coach.
I'm not sure if french will cover this, but I think the crowd noise caused a blown blocking adjustment. The center and right side of the line slide left, the LT & LG slide right, completely away from Ekanem/Edmunds and 5 OL block a total of 2 guys as a unit.
Nasty = Good in millennial talk, or so I was told.
Either way, I think our secondary is totally bodacious.
That would serve everyone involved their just desserts.
CJF's next speech

I think the dumpster should be gold.
Expectations? No.
But the anxiety as to whether our offense will be able to function has been replaced with excitement to see what the offense can do.
So it's better.
It's better to be the underdog.
Disagree. It's better when your opponent thinks they're going to lose before they step on the field.
Being off by 22 and off by 24 is hardly worth noting a difference.
I don't like golf, but I do like my tea and lemonade. I'll be sure to drink one this week in his honor. My father was a huge fan.
Can't say I blame him. We beat ourselves in ugly fashion and haven't beaten anyone of note yet. Now, if we roll UNC and Miami and still don't get his vote, I'll start questioning his visual acuity.
We don't need the dubious honor of losing our second game to the eventual BCS Champs...again.
Ah, thanks. And good call on the extra week.

This sucks. One of a handful that I've never met and will miss for a long time. Listened to stories about Arnie since I was old enough to hear them from my father.
