sorry bro
have a leg for your troubles
You're not wrong.

There isn't one, I think Ole Miss loses 3 more games.
Welcome! Allow me to give you your first....damnit someone beat me while I was typing this
Butch Jones thinks the jersey patch for the Battle at Bristol is too small. He also thinks our unis for the game would've been better with the foghorn leghorn rendition of the Hokie Bird somewhere on it
Butch Jones only sets his TV volume to odd numbers.
(Hello TKP! First post but long-time stalker!)
I don't think he is an elite blocker though.
Agreed, Sam's true value seems to be in the receiving game. When he is able to catch and has some space to make a move he is successful. But he looks too slow when he carries the ball. And surprisingly can't break a tackle very well.
okay. fair point. I was listening for something more glaring and didn't read into that segment the same way you did. UVA has major issues and I don't know if their (recent) history is solely to blame. I'm still up-in-the-air with regards to the Bronco Mendenhal project. I know he had success at BYU but I don't know if/how that translates to UVA. I sort of expected UVA to improve because ML was really that bad, but I'm not really sure if that will happen. It would really warm my heart if they continued their downward spiral and somehow, against all odds, BM proves to be even worse than ML. That's my modest dream, anyway.
Glorious!
Here's some more data from David Teel (Daily Press):
"Justin Fuente's coaching debut with the Hokies did bring a faster pace.
Tech ran 89 plays, 48 rushing and 41 passing. Only three times in the previous 25 season had the Hokies snapped the ball more often in regulation.
And just imagine the number Saturday had Tech not lost four fumbles, two by quarterback Jerod Evans, one by receiver Cam Phillips and one by Curtis Williams on a punt.
The Hokies' most regulation snaps since 1991: They had 95 in a 2012 victory over Virginia, 93 in a 1992 loss to U.Va., and 90 in a 1994 win at Southern Mississippi.
For the more analytical folks: Tech averaged one play for every 22.7 seconds of possession in Saturday's 36-13 win. That's faster than any of Fuente's four Memphis teams – the quickest was 23.0 seconds last year. That's faster than any of Frank Beamer's 29 Tech teams – the quickest was 24.1 seconds in 1988."
A bit off-topic wrt to this game review, but Tennessee's WR #7 Preston Williams jumped off the screen to me in the App St game. He is tall and smooth with great body control and Dobbs looked to him heavy in the early part of the game.
My Q: since Bud has scrapped the field-boundary corner system, if I'm Tennessee's OC I line Preston Williams up against Stroman on the boundary side as much as I can and just toss him 50/50 balls like Evans did against Liberty's D. I realize that Dobbs isn't Aaron Rodgers but surely he can make that pass all night long. French do you agree with this concern and might Bud counter by putting Facyson back at boundary full-time?
"I think they want to be resilient and I think they want to believe and have new habits. But there is some history and so there was some reversion to that today, maybe by what they know, but again my job is to help them build great habits. And when things don't go as well as you hoped and don't go according to plan, that's usually when some of that reversion comes back and I pointed that out to them a number of times. But that's where we currently are and that's where we are launching from and I have clearer feedback now."
I think this is where he alludes to the bad habits from London's era
I don't remember one than one or two shifts after the initial formation was set. That alone increases tempo.
Interesting watching Ole Miss...they weren't hurrying up to run; they were hurrying to pass. Had the FSU secondary bumfuzzled...kind of like VT v. Tulsa.
Butch Jones lets Smokey lick him in the face. This after Smokey licks himself for so long and so loudly that it annoys the HokieBird (His Owner)
Why not Carroll? He's quick and can pick up yards in space
thanks, y'all
I listened to it. I'm not getting the "blame Time Cop" out of it that you are...
Why yes indeed, Jameison. Verily, had our man not suffered a stubbed toe on the third hoop, the croquet match would have been ours!
I blame the loss of concentration on that insufferable and wholly inappropriate clamor those ruffians from Richmond were raising in the Mendenhall lecture hall.
so we've got a 6'7" tight end turned WR? Let's have him run plays we reserved last year for our 5'8" speedy RB.
sounds about right.

might have been recently purchased by a Hokie and may or may not have some good information in the works
What? Who let this guy in here?
for the love of all things good and holy, stop using "Appy State." "App State" is perfectly acceptable and even requires fewer syllables. "Appy State" is as offensive to them as "Vah-Tech" is to us. I don't know how this got started, but it needs to be killed with fire.
I seem to remember one quick pitch to the boundary, I believe it was McClease at TB. Wasn't blocked well and went for a short gain.

Someone please tell me they have thrown this back in this clown's face
