I went to high school with 400 people in my graduating class. 130 of them went to LOLUVA with mixed results. about 35 went to VT. Only two that I know of went to Wisconsin. But they both turned into massive douchebags. This may not have been a result of being at Wisconsin (good possibility that this was going to happen to them anyway) but the association is there. I think Wisconsin is the one team that I'll always root against. I might root for them to beat the Cowboys or the Penguins.

I saw the same things you did. The run game really scares me. I know a lot had to to with teller not being in there for a good portion of the game and that Liberty made a conscious effort to stop the run. I don't understand why Rogers an Mcclease got carries over Mckenzie. Shai looked healthy and I'm not sure if he's not the best tailback on the team. I love Rogers but he is no tailback. Mcclease is basically the same type running back as Mcmillian but smaller, so a 1-2 punch of Mcmillian and Mckenzie would present contrasting styles for defenses to plan against.

Was great getting back up to Blacksburg, glad I got to meet more TKP members hopefully no one got stuck in the nightmare that was 81 yesterday. I finally made it back to SC at 12:59 used some back road to Dublin VA and got on 81 there. Till next time.

Forgive me Eddie, I was just assuming that a W for us vs them was a given. I agree that's a must win year in/year out. Sorry for the confusion.

The ZeroU fans are noticeably quiet this morning at the workplace. Had to put a couple on suicide watch after that fat L to Houston yesterday.

I think you ALWAYS have to beat them.

Recruiting against UVA should be pretty easy. I know it is a good school, it is closer to DC, Hampton Roads, etc....but it is just terrible for football.

- Zero atmosphere unless the opposition brings fans
- Mediocre record and never compete
- Not much football tradition

Fuente and staff should be showing pictures of their 7/8 empty stadium, their record, lowlights of their recent play with good recruits, etc.

Oregon has been going as that pace for a few years, I don't know that Fuente would want to burn it that fast, this year especially with some of our depth concerns.
I'm happy with a W. And happy we weren't a hot mess.

I thought about the recruiting battle coming up. Fuente: "You want to lose to Richmond? Didn't think so. (pulls out pen)"

Seriously, what are everyone's thoughts on this: Is a Richmond win against UVA better from a recruiting standpoint than a Hokie win vs the Hoes? For the good guys, of course.

I thought the running game was one area that really needed improvement. I'm sure French can provide all of the details, but the run blocking wasn't that great yesterday. I thought we would get big holes for the RBs to hit.

I did think that the perimeter blocking by WRs was good.

Comparing us to how other teams play yesterday, no we weren't that fast but I think we were at that stage yesterday of the kid taking the training wheels off and making it down to the end of our street without falling. Things picked up at the end, throws were made better, runs were going further and I think that is what we needed. I tried thinking how this would play out in the season. We are not one dimensional at all in my book and that is exciting!

Evans accounted for two fumbles, but also became the first Tech QB since Bryan Randall (2004) to throw for 4 touchdowns in a game. Evans might have added a few more too, if not for some overthrown deep balls.

Very interesting. Definitely some things to work on, but at least they have something to work WITH, as well.
