A Teller-hole is like a black hole, only angrier. Also, when things cross its event horizon it generates pancakes instead of Hawkings radiation.

Definitely felt that way. I also think that they were working on some of those plays to basically see what we are made of.
For instance when Evans has a run play on and they drop a safety into the box for an 8 man look, against Liberty we are going to keep the play on and see what our Oline is made of. Next week we probably check out of it into a new play.
If that OL plays another down of college football Les Miles should be fired.
That was a pretty bogus call. I was expecting Fedoras head to literally explode, or at least he was going to hit a kid and get suspended.
As terrible as those calls were, he had a hand in them losing that game, the momentum really switched when he lost his cool.

I have an opposing view to this. I do not know what the O-line responsibilities are, but this looks clearly like a zone run. Teller should be helping either the T or center with their block then going to the next level. He clearly just goes after the LB.
Now I mentioned this in another thread, we probably were playing most looks straight up against Liberty basically treating the game like a preseason game, but still your always taught to help out with a double team and then meet the LB at the next level.
Since Teller goes directly to the next level the RB only gets a minimal amount of yards. Maybe that's what the coaches are frustrated with.
Yes, the o-line concerns me more than anything on our team. Coming in, I heard the o-line could be one of our strengths, but if we can't open holes and adequately pass protect against the likes of Liberty, that scares me. Granted, LU's defense was fired up, and didn't look terrible - they looked better than that Tulsa D we saw in last year's bowl - and perhaps at times, Evans held the ball a little longer than he should have, but I was disappointed in our o-line's performance.
Aside from that, I thought we looked pretty much solid everywhere. Ludwig wasn't booming punts, but he wasn't terrible, either. He's not a natural punter, so I think he's a work in progress, and he'll get a little better each week.

I think what you mean to say is that going into the hole, he isn't shifty but once he's through the first line he can lay a nice and sold single move, not the double-triple twisty. He does run with power and determination and protects the ball well.
But that's we have also come to love about Sam. He doesn't have All-American talent, he makes up for it in heart, determination, persistence and knowledge.
This reminds me of something French said a while back when giving a first impression of Fuente's offense at Memphis. I'm paraphrasing here because I am too lazy to fine the exact quote, but basically while you're watching it, it doesn't feel like the offense is doing anything amazing. Then you look up at the scoreboard and they're up 30 points and have 500 yards. That's exactly what yesterday felt like to me. Obvious growing pains and some misfires, then the announcer says "And with that play, the Hokies are over 500 yards of offense." And I'm like, are you shitting me?
To start the season Hokies will only have 10 guys on active rosters.
As you can tell by the list on the main post it wasn't a good cut down day for the Hokies: Tapp, Thomas, Painter, Graham, Hanson and Botkin all got final day cut.
The best thing CJF has done since he got here was to force the strength and conditioning personnel to shuffle and get shit right for the first time in nearly a decade. I fully expect us to be discussing how good we could have been if we'd only been as healthy in 2011-2015 as we're gonna be in 2016.
I think we will eventually get there. Memphis was faster then Oregon last year in the plays per second department.

Side note a lot of people around me didn't know what DBU meant. Also no one chanted DBU which is what I think that graphic is for.

Yes! Excellent point. It's sooo nice when the other team is the one getting all the false starts. I have to admit that I was starting to feel bad for their tackle who kept jumping.
Great win yesterday...its crazy how Shai McKenzie was the forgotten man on our RB depth chart. He looks like he is 100% healthy and ready to contribute. I think Drew Harris is probably nervous now.
