GT could be sneaky good this year. They had an absurd run of injuries last year, and if all those players come back experienced, their triple option could be back to rolling like it was in 2014

Seems like to me that this is how the free market works. And nowadays, publishing the details of a negotiation is just another negotiation tactic.
They're all a bit spoiled.
When I said "pride", I meant that's why it's difficult for any of them, and particularly Bosa, to back down at this point. This is more money that he's ever seen. He certainly can trade some of it back for some contract stipulations, but it's costing him in playing time this season.

I don't think he's so far off the mark (if I'm feeling cynical), I just have a hard time seeing us as overrated as no one seems to be rating us particularly highly.

I seem to remember Clemson having some pretty spectacular recruiting.
Our offensive talent is being way undersold by the analysts this summer. To put it into context, we averaged 31 points per game with Scott Loeffler at OC with pretty much this exact talent (pour one out for Ryan Malleck, ye will be missed).
I would be shocked if we aren't a TD better than last year, even with our current QB uncertainty.

I don't usually don't pay too much attention to stuff like this. (I actually have a hard time paying attention to anything, but that's for a different post) However, that one guy crowning the Hokies with the "overrated" moniker really bugs me. Dude, are you for real? The Hokies in most places are picked to finish no better than third in the division, and they aren't getting so much as a sniff at any poll. I would love to know who these over-raters are. I'm thirsty and I need some kool-aid.
That's not pride, it's the owners trying to set a new precedence around the league and his agent is taking a stand (probably at Bosa's expense). This is nothing more than billionaire owners trying to gain yet another advantage over players. The very existence of offset language is absurd enough (a loophole to get out of paying what they owe only possible due to collusion), now they want to get out of the one concession they gave to players? The owners are acting entitled and childish, but they know that any fallout will ultimately fall on the players.

If you have those concerns don't draft him then. I agree Bosa is a risk, but they did their due diligence and selected him anyways. Can't hold it against him now and try to structure the contract so much in favor of the owners that he is willing to sit out a year. Don't blame him at all for holding out.
Its funny because I have always thought we have always recruited for the spread hurry up offense without even knowing it.
- Mobile QB who will make the defense bite on the read option? Check
- Numerous talented HBs who can rotate in to keep the tempo? Check
- At least one FB who has proven himself to be a threat as well? Check
- Elite TE who will dedicate focus from the LBs opening up running lanes on the Option? Check
- Sure handed WRs and RBs who can make the sure catch on quick intermediate routes? Check
- Speedy WR who will torch a defense who cheats to the LOS to stop the read option? Check-a-rooney
- An OL which is capable of getting leverage and moving the pocket? Check
The only thing stopping the roster as made right now is forgetting the old system and getting on the same page with the new. We have the talent right now to be very good offensively. My only reservation about this season is if they just haven't had enough time and experience learning it, yet.
