I agree. This more often correlates directly with the final score. Except for points directly off turnovers (pick six, etc) where I don't think the defense is ever awarded a possession and those are relatively rare (even though we expect them every drive). Also with something like a safety or an on sides kick.

But honestly, on sides kicks never happen these days.

Bronco has proven success. I still think LOLUVA is still a total wildcard

I have two main thoughts on my expectations:

  1. If we can go to the Horseshoe and beat OSU with the offense we had two years ago, we can win the Coastal with what we have this year.
  2. How well we do depends on who gets injured and when.

I agree. I noted that 2nd sentence and will repeat it here:

You don't do that in one offseason with a roster recruited to a different system.

The changes in the offense are a simplification of a somewhat similar offense, implemented with a faster tempo. That transition should be more straightforward than this statement makes it out to be.

First time I have seen this image and it irks me a bit. Michigan still had a possession after the reversal so who knows whether we would still win.... and even if we had scored the TD, I am thinking we would have made the extra point.

But yea, it was a catch.

another point a buddy of mine made after I posted this is that UVA has won something like a whopping 1(one) road game in the last four(4) years.

That's pretty impressive.

And they travel to Oregon and turn around and travel to UConn the next week. The rest of the road games consist of @Duke, @Wake, @GT, and @VT

They are most likely to win @Wake but otherwise their schedule is fairly brutal. My "unbiased outlook" was about as optimistic as it could have been...when I actually think about it a little more it wouldn't surprise me at all if they only win 1 or 2 games

Like French, I didn't mean to disparage your catch either, or George, whom I don't think I've met. I just generally have an attitude about people using too light tackle in order to satisfy some inner urge. I had an argument with a man on the Green River many years ago about just that. He had caught a fine 4-5lb rainbow trout that he proudly professed to have fought for twenty minutes or so to bring to net. Fully forty minutes later, as I returned downstream, the fish was still in the eddy this guy was fishing from, finning quietly not ten feet from the guy. Turns out, he was fishing with 4lb tippet in a swiftly moving river filled with big to huge trout, and was inordinately proud of himself, even when faced with the probable mortality of the poor fish he was so proud of landing. I fly fish myself, but this was blatantly unsportsmanlike, in my opinion, and I told him so. Oh well, we were both fairly passionate about our positions on the situation and we didn't come to blows or anything, but it rankled me. Sorry if I jumped the gun in my assumptions. And, great fish and great pictures, by the way.

I agree with 8-4 being a realistic expectation.

Not to be NATT, but if 9-3 is what happens with an unexpected upset, 7-5 is equally possible with an unexpected drop. I'm gonna expect one of each, resulting in 8-4.

The blonde on the far right with the yellow wristband is clearly trying to protect her nostrils from the fart that her brunette friend to her right is desperately hoping no one will notice. Chinstrap in the orange shirt to her right is just starting to sense the disturbance in air quality.

^ truth.
Not seeing the offense yet, I'm intrigued by the concept of an offensive system that works with just decent QB play.
We've had years of systems based on elite athletes over-achieving, but we dried up a bit.......
We've now got a stable of weapons and what should be a solid line....if we get a QB that can distribute the ball, good things could happen.

honestly I think the photo lends itself to drawing you to the space between the guy in orange and the girl with the sunglasses on her head. But since they're both looking away and the other girl seems to be tossing her hair to get your attention, I can see that. I could also argue that the blur helps her out. Your mind wants her to be hot so it fills in the blanks...

I'm just surprised security let general zod there get so close to Fuente. I'm waiting for heat ray to come out of his eyes...

Even better. I was in school in 1999 when they came for either Miami or Syracuse I can't remember, but they kept saying, this is it, this is the look. But mv7 had other plans. Afterwards, they kept saying upset. I like being the underdog
