thanks Alum. Then the branding argument really doesn't fly for me. Going alternate uniforms makes a bigger statement than wearing white any day
I mean home just means that they have first choice of uniform and the away team cant conflict right? We could have done maroon in some form if we wanted to.

This is a really good point I hadn't thought of. How cool would it have been for them to be all orange and us to be #allMaroonEverything? Tough choice
I understand the point, but it would make more sense if we were the home team and could wear all maroon or our typical home jerseys. Perhaps since we are the away side Whit felt it was a chance to go for an alternate to make a statement that way, as white is not our primary colors.
Or were we allowed to wear our home jerseys as well?

Went to High School with him in Maryland, so I have mixed feelings. Happy he has rebounded after getting injured prior to the start of season at ECU. However, I never want UVA to win. I know ECU was very high on him after Shane Carden left. Will definitely be looking forward to him playing at Lane Stadium and meeting our D-line.
My hope is that people remember the uniforms a lot less than the headline "Hokies Upset Vols in Front of Largest College Football Crowd Ever"

Bernies may have the game on I know the owners are Steelers fans, I think they were Tech fans but for some reason I have a recollection that they are ECU leaning

Mama Kwans (it might be over the line into Nags Head technically, I cant remember) their food is really good and it small
Bonzer Shack (used to be Mexicali) is my personal favorite, but they might not have the game on but for a 'tailgating' experience id say theyd be close to the top

Mulligans has a really cool outdoor roof bar but I dont know if theyll have the game.
If I heard correctly, he recently took a trip to PSU. They sound pretty confident in him
I believe OBX carries the Norfolk/ Va Beach local channels so you should be able to pick up the affiliate down there (WGNT channel 27) using either an antenna or the cable company. Not sure about the satellite companies.
I would guess that the Norfolk affiliate will carry the VT regardless of any other ACC games scheduled at the same time.

Hey, it's just my opinion, and not even my wife generally cares about that, but winning will do more for brand recognition than anything. It doesn't matter what we wear, we lose and ESPN and other outlets will make no comment other than those were cute uniforms as they talk about Tennessee's march to the championship game.
I'm probably going to be down there during the game as well and was thinking about taking an antenna with me, but from the coverage maps it doesn't look promising.
For some reason every time i look at this picture the only thing I see is that girl.
To have color vs color in a game, you need agreement from all parties involved, and I think it became clear that we weren't going to get approval for our standard maroon. Those in charge were hoping to have both teams wear special uniforms, and its still TBD if Tennessee is going with a special alternate, but they had the option to stick with their regular homes by being the home team. We were allowed only the white uniform or a special uniform. We took option 2.
