445 here in South Dakota. I may or may not have woken up an hour earlier for this.
25 Minutes...I'm not counting though
NCAA single game rushing record. LT's record stood for a long time before Melvin Gordon broke it only to be broken again the following week by Perine. This was 2 seasons ago btw.

I got this! Hopefully this isn't another trap (see: what's a jib?), but here goes:
The "scuttlebut" is what sailors call the water fountain, or water cooler, on the ship. Like the office water cooler, conversations tend to strike up in this area, and ultimately lead to gossiping and rumor.
Thus: scuttlebut = rumor
I'd narrow it down to either Tottenham or West Ham. Both have very loyal fan bases, some good talent, and are in greater London. I'm a ManU fan (because I started following in the late 90's with Beckham, Yorke, Giggs, etc.), but have always had a bit of an interest in seeing Tottenham do well.

Recruiting is not done through singular methods, it's accomplished by a multitude of pitches.
New Uniforms/Alternate Uniforms give 3 benefits: Relevance, Visualization and Player Satisfaction
Oregon made their program relevant through uniforms. Every other program is following that model because it was successful. New apparel and alternate uniforms are now expected.
Programs have been putting recruits into uniforms for visualization for a very long time. It's been going on forever. Nothing new, but meaningful nonetheless.
Finally, new/alternate uniforms increase player satisfaction. And no matter what any fans says, me or otherwise, about which ones we like or dislike none of us are out there busting our ass every day to play, risking injury or perhaps never even seeing the field. It's a reward for them more than anyone else. That's noticed by recruits. (Heck, online forums like this are noticed by recruits)
no one is saying alternate uniforms alone make a recruit sign their letter. But no one except the recruit knows the singular thing that will make their decision easy, and so it all becomes contributing factors to their decision. Unless you are Bama or a handful of blue chip teams, coaches at programs like VT need those tools. Without them, you're bringing a knife to a gun fight.
City have a terrific yourh academy thata going to start churning out some good players here very shortly, and invested really heavily in youth this off-season to rebuild the spine of the team
Likewise they hate manchester United and score a shit ton. The fans are very self loathing though and it seems like the team likes to make things as difficult as it possibly can to achieve success
(see nearly blowing the EPL title a few years ago due to a last day game against a struggling qpr team)
Liverpool isnt a bad choice either, arch rival of man u. Although their history is basically university of Miami's. Used to be a superpower in the sport but have struggled and fallen off of late. Very loyal fanbase though
How do you prove something like that a fact? The poll of recruits was just about uniforms in general, our regular uniform looks fine. The poll wasn't about alternate uniforms, or am I wrong? I only saw chatter of it on here. The fact is we have played a lot worse in the last few years with a bunch more uniform combinations than when we didnt. Our recruiting rankings havent gotten better either, if anything worse. I really dont mind a different uniform every now and then, but its no longer special.
Actually, the image wouldn't necessarily imply three, but two and one...all right I'm done.
Join, not tomorrow, today. For those that have, congrats on helping keep this awesome place the best site out there.
Second, I drink a good amount of beer, all right I drink a lot of beer, but that's between us. This bottle opener was forged with the lightning bolts of Zeus himself. Forget bottles, I can tap a keg with this thing and it still doesn't have a scratch on it.
Do it.
Nice post for those that may not read / listen to Stew a lot. He flies at a pretty high level, and really got behind the Hokies last year. His article suggested he hadn't even looked at the ACC rosters much outside of household names, and I was honestly really disappointed this made it to "print."
He does an excellent job at national CFB news, but when he get into the weeds, things sometimes go off the rails.
Problem with young stud footballers is they are usually only still around 5-10 years later if they are at a big club who can afford to keep them. This will narrow your options pretty significantly.
That's a lot to read through.
Here is my take at a summary. The good news is: some of us like them, some of us don't, opinions are our own, other opinions aren't always the same as ours, that's cool and shows we aren't lemmings, and we all want to try to beat UT and have a good season.
The bad news is: football hasn't started yet.
Times like these I really wish I lived in Virginia :(
I'm in the same situation as Biomech_Hokie, I'm in the market for an EPL team. I love soccer and I'm trying to figure which team would be the best fit for me. I'm looking for:
1) Some of the most passionate fans in the EPL (great chants, loud fans etc.)
2) Tons of scoring
3) Tyrann Mathieu when he was at LSU could conceivably be the team's spirit animal
4) Situated somewhere I would want to vacation
5) A couple of young stud footballers that I could follow for the next 5-10 years
6) Not Man U
Anyone have any suggestion for me?
unique Virginia Tech food and drink specials
Important question, do they make rails?
what Alum said. I'm not trying to attack the older generation by any means, just stating an observational opinion. Looking forward to watch our Hokies do damage in hokiestone!
I will be there on Friday. Hopefully my voice comes with me.

after only being on her for a couple months, the biggest thing I learned is that TKP condensed the 2600 acre VT community onto a fantastic online forum with hilarious people, true Hokies, and some badass football content. Let's be real, you don't find this anywhere else online and I bet the majority of you are consistently refreshing the page to see the next hilarious/informative post! Let's keep this going for as long as we can!

A few things that jump out. In the 9 he killed off the start, plenty have see League One football since (Bolton, Charlton, Sheffield United and Wigan) with another, Portsmouth, on the brink of leaving the Football League together but have since stabilized looking to make the playoffs in League Two this season.
And then he doesn't want to be tortured when Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle are in his top three.
And last but not least, he called Theo Walcott the LeBron James on the EPL. El oh el.

i just took a look at scUM's schedule. They have FAMU, FAU, APPY St., and GT before the Crima-noles game. So, 4-0 before easily before their real first game. Mandell predicts them at 7-5. Maybe 9-3 and contend with UNC.
