Ok, so this is the first season I'm watching the EPL, and have no idea how to pick a team to root for. My first memory of football was the redskins, so I cheer for them. I went to VT so I pull for them. How do you pick a team in a league you have no history with other than the love of watching the game?

I know how you feel. They have their bad fans but so do we. Every team does. It just seems that UT has an annoyingly obscene amount of them. Difficult as it is, it's best to just ignore it because those trolls, either online or in person, want you to respond. It's what they enjoy doing for some reason. That's a topic of discussion for another day though. Just take solace in knowing that we have a wonderful university that outpaces theirs in many, many facets outside of football. Here's to hoping we outpace them in that as well this year.

Outside of Boise is there anyone at the FBS level that has a colored field? I know there are plenty at the other levels but I can't think of another FBS program that has one, not off the top of my head anyway

Three is plenty in soccer. In footy, a miss call is generally based on matter of opinion, rather than not enough eyes on a call. Played my whole life, watched my whole life, reffed for part of my adult life, and think three is plenty.
Some might say we've been over-hyped the last few years......but not this year. Mmmmm I like it.
