I agree wholeheartedly. I will gladly join when I have a job and money to spend on such things. Still a full time student as of right now.
The talent is in place to have a very special year. It's easy to see why Vol fans are pumped.
Those world beater seasons take about as much luck as they do ability though. UT is turning things around steadily, it's our luck that I'm not convinced about yet.
My view of those games is probably slightly skewed. I wasn't aware they weren't predicted to win those games. I don't closely follow Tennessee and most of the info I get is from my uncle who is a UT homer.

No argument from me that those games should have been won, but with the exception of UF, they weren't expected to win until after they lost. All three were blown chances. Bama was a good day, but it looked to me like Bama wasn't playing with a lot of energy that day. I'll take the compliment that UT played them close though, It's only fair to note also that Saban took a knee at the end of the game inside the 10 after the late interception to end the game.

A little of topic here, but I think that's what makes TKP so great. We aren't always belittling everyone we play for everything under the sun. Outside of LOLuva and that's because they deserve it. Every other message board I've been on there's always plenty of posters just lighting into other people for no good reason. We may make some lighthearted jabs at times but that's about as hateful as it gets. TKP rules. That is all.

Should have clarified. As good as reasonable media sources predict. Most have them winning the East and losing in the SECCG.
That is what I see them living up to. Anything above that is overachieving. Possible, but overachieving

Because you were really cheering that the ACC was getting a better payout from the tournament, and you chose the best option in that game.
I think it's fair to say that last season for the Vols was not successful. They fell flat against Florida, Arkansas, and OU. Games that should have been won by Tennessee. Take care of business there and it's a different story. They played Alabama tough but results on the field are ultimately what matters. We've had some pretty rough seasons but even when we were successful we had games that we should have won. Same deal. We fell flat when we should have been winning. In the end, I'm just not convinced Tennessee can win when it matters. Maybe ths is the year for Jones to clean up those types of games. Either way, good luck to you guys and I hope Bristol is a good game.
What's as good as advertised? Because I've seen some of your fan brethren talking about winning the SEC and making the national championship game, I've seen people talking about winning by 30 or more at halftime at Bristol, I've seen talk of a Tenn player winning the Heisman. Just keep this in mind: in last 4 years at least 3 teams in top 12 to start season finished Unranked.

Am I the only one that thinks these jerseys are ruined by the orange number on the shoulder?! They'd look 10X better if both numbers were the maroon with orange trim

Things may not work out this year, but I don't think falling flat on their faces "again" is accurate. Going into last season UT was projected to finish 25th in the country and 2nd in the SEC East. They finished 22nd and 2nd.
I don't place much stock in the moral victories of the close losses. Shoop was brought in to fix those defensive breakdowns though. Coach Jones has taken criticism but as been willing to make the necessary changes.
My money is on UT being as good as advertised, but it still has to be proven on the field
