Foster acknowledged there are some "creases" in his scheme, but the objective is to prevent those from resulting in big plays. VT was solid in first downs allowed (31) and 3rd down conversions (19); and but big plays absolutely crushed VT's defense last year...77th in allowing plays over 10 yards and 102nd in plays over 20 yards.

For anyone who isn't aware, getting an ad viewed gets TKP money. An ad blocker won't register as a "view" for the page and basically makes things worse. While ad blockers are great, they can really hurt the site financially.
Edit: If you want to help, refer friends to the website, I believe TKP has an amazon link, and do your best to not use ad blockers.
Chris, I know it's not your intention but posting the link to the adblocker is bad form. Ads are a source of revenue and google will soon remove this invasive ad you mentioned. You are essentially encouraging people to cut funding to the site.
Question: what if someone (not me) could develop a sort of AI in your likeness to handle said managerial duties??
I would be the person who would have to manage any volunteer, and I don't have the time to do that.

Late to the thread here, but the easiest way to connect your iPad to the TV is with an AppleTV. It is what I use to display video content from my iPhone and iPad onto my TV. I don't own a MacBook, but I believe you can stream from that to the AppleTV as well. You have to run an HDMI cable from the AppleTV to your TV and then connect the AppleTV to your Wifi network. I was using the NBC Sports App on my phone to watch some of the other Olympic sports on my TV.
AppleTV also has a watch ESPN app on it so you can stream any digital content without having to use your iPhone or iPad. There are a few kids channels on there too like PBS Kids, Disney, Disney XD, Disney Jr. that my family uses quite heavily. Netflix is also on there too. If you are heavily invested in the Apple world (iTunes, iPhone, iPad, Macbook, etc.), then this is probably your best bet.
As others have noted, the Chromecast is definitely cheaper and provides a lot of the same features or possibly more than what the AppleTV provides, but I don't think it works with Apple products. I currently have a 3rd generation AppleTV which is selling for $69 now. The latest model is $149.
I am definitely in agreement with you Fireman that streaming sports is quite miserable. I watched many Tech football and basketball games using the Watch ESPN app over the past few years. Without fail, my stream would bomb out and I'd have to relaunch the game. It would also bomb out at the most inopportune times. The delay is also a couple minutes behind and I'd receive texts from family members before the play appeared on my screen. It has me contemplating upgrading my TV package with Comcast (only game in town offering Internet) in order to get ESPN and other sports channels. I go to my parents' house to watch the really big games.
Honestly I'm expecting traffic, and therefore Key Players Club membership, to have an uptick during the football season. That is the most popular time to discuss/complain about VT sports, and particularly in this new era, analysis and reason will be in high demand.
I do see how first time visitors (and potential members) could be quickly pushed away by invasive ads. Could a volunteer specifically handle this issue?

I don't know what you have planned for when the season starts back, but I would be happy to make a thread encouraging people to join The Key Player's Club once the season officially starts back and site traffic increases. If that would be okay with you. Perhaps other, more influential site members, could do this as well, or others could follow suit.

I don't think selling beer and wine at games is going to stop people from tailgating or smuggling in alcohol.
I do think they'll make money selling beer to people who aren't worried about paying the cost of a draft beer in order to enjoy one at a 3 1/2 hour game on a Saturday.
VT isn't going to lose money selling beer at football and basketball games.
