Congrats!

I said this in the fan fest thread, but Settle was great with my kids. He was really interactive and joking around with the other players. He had a big smile on his face and seemed to be genuinely enjoying it all. I'm rooting hard for him.
I guess, but I'd still feel better if he said "He's 100% back."
I don't mind selling alcohol in Lane either. I think there's a few ways to mitigate the underage issue too:
1) A limit of 2 beers per purchase. That's pretty standard at most sporting events anyway, from my experience. So, that's only so many beers someone could buy for underages in one purchase.
2) Allow police to card anyone carrying an alcoholic beverage at any place in the stadium. Obviously there will be people who still take the risk, but if there's a chance that holding a beverage could get you in trouble, there's an incentive not to do so.
3) Beer sales in the stands - I know this sounds counterproductive, but I think it'd be much easier to police this. Beer guy/gal can check ID, stadium staff/police can see who's making the transaction and where it goes afterwards a little easier.
Obviously, this means more work for security staff, but if they want to do it it's possible. From personal experience too, if I'm buying beer at a game I'm going to make sure it doesn't go to waste. Alcohol in stadiums is expensive, and I'm not buying it for someone else if I can tell they're already drunk or going to spill half of it anyway. Even if it's their money - that's my time spent NOT watching football. I realize that not everybody is there to watch the game and priorities will be different though.
Yeah, I want my old Foster, and my old VT defense back!
not flipping corners may help
The only thing I saw of note there was this:
Mike Barber @RTD_MikeBarber 14h14 hours ago Farmville, VA
(ICYMI) #Hokies fawning over offensive line instead of fretting this preseason.
Two things stand out in my mind after this interview:
(1) Bud seems more relaxed and excited and less stressed and worried. This is a good sign.
(2) The defensive call has come from the sideline for the last few years and frequently the defense has not been set by the time the ball was hiked. I'm hoping that practicing against an up tempo offense with no huddle has forced our defense to come up with a better process where the defense is ready and in position sooner.

good things come to those who wait
the sad part is I'm not sure if you're referring to JMU or Marshall

they're working very hard on how to run onto the field correctly
boy what a site that would be if they tried to do Clemson's hill run
Honestly I don't ever think Bud would heap those kind of expectations on a player before the season starts. So I kind of think even if he does think he's 100% back, I don't believe he would he would be direct in stating that to the media. Coach speak I guess is about right.
Good things come in small packages, congradulations:

Ahh shucks. Thanks HokieX3
So the emphasis will be on toughness and playing as a team? I like that - I feel like we could have used more of this the past few years compared to when we first came to the ACC with a chip on our shoulder.
Here in PA our alcohol laws are terrible:
You're only allowed to sell beer up to 192oz in bottle shops
Anything larger (cases, kegs) must go through beer distributors
Wine and liquor can only be sold in wine/spirits stores
Grocery stores are not allowed to sell wine at all, beer must go through registers whose receipts are some high percentage of prepared foods
Gas stations cannot sell anything
I hate PA
Could be coach speak. Yet, one might feel that if they will be playing "eyes" on the ball, there will be more interceptions. I like it. Harkens back to those Buddy Bennett days, "go for the ball". It's time Gene Bunn's record is broken. One of these guys, Alexander maybe, will get it before they are done. Fascyon will be part of that in some way.
Sorry, no trailer today— Michael S (@mstrawther11) August 15, 2016
He just tweeted it won't drop today.
Or they just fart around in the rain expecting the opponent to quit because they are in a lower division.

Brilliant move by him, he probably had a hunch not that many people would show up, so he looks good to the community for doing such a thing, knowing full well it wouldn't last too long and no chance of writers cramp. Win-win for him.
