I have no real objections to permitting adults the choice to drink adult beverages at any sporting venue.

My objection, as it is to all other concessions, is the insane prices you are expected to pay.

The last time I paid for popcorn and a drink at a movie theater was a date night with the wife a couple years back. I didn't say a word, but I think she was alarmed that my eyes might pop clean out of my skull, and said she'd never buy movie concessions again.

Don't get me wrong: I completely understand that concession revenues are what generate for these facilities the revenues for upkeep and a generally small profit. I'm just a cheap bastard at heart though, and can't bring myself to pay those inflated prices on much other than a turkey leg.

My grandmother lived right behind the Pal's in Lynn Garden....that guy holding that burger has been there a long time.

I'm a West Ham fan (probably the only one on this site) and I'm excited that the season has started up. Looking forward to seeing if the new stadium with 60K fans can help the Hammers finish towards the top of the league and hopefully making a run in the Europa League.

I'm glad you had a better experience, because "neighbors" and "teammates" were absolute effing douchetools, just like their parents.

Moss loves to fish and has been on a few fishing shows. I'm pretty sure this is one is from a Fox Sports special - but he has been on a few others.

This used to be my computer background:

She went on to blister Sweden for playing conservative and refusing to open their passing game up, and made it personal, adding, "We had that style of play when Pia was our coach," and topped it off with, "I don't think they'll make it very far in the tournament."

Apparently it was the correct strategy, since Sweden will go on to the next round and compete for a medal, while Hope Solo tweets about them.

I got two single seat tickets this past Thursday, luckily the seats are one in front of the other. There are only single seats available. I am still waiting to hear if I got tickets through VT. but at least I know I am in the stadium.

The aura of Notre Dame and history of Alabama is a more impressive sell than one alumn's NFL contract.

Tyrod was a big part of Virginia Tech's success in the ACC, so Tech will always implicitly sell that. Or maybe a kid grew up in VA and Tyrod was his favorite player. Fuente could benefit there, but that's the limited mileage he'll get.

Fuente can't sell he's responsible for any of Tyrod's success, and the best part is he doesn't have to. Fuente will have much more impressive "what have you done for me lately" pitches — a flashy highly productive offense and Paxton Lynch for starters.

Outside of the increase in salary for 1st year the options all appear to be in Buffalo's favor. He still needs to perform very well this season to get the next option to kick in.

That's the way to go. We had a wedding to go to in Chicago. Hotels were $150/room/night. We got 5 people in an airb&b apartment for $90 a night.

That's well put. Having Hokies not just in the NFL but starting and having their names
in the news seems like it would impress recruits.

Then you have Fuente who's developed Dalton, who's starting, and Lynch, who I believe
will start, that's a good combo.

This can only help. Seeing players like Tyrod and MV7 being starting quarterbacks in the league puts the brand in the spotlight, which I think gets the attention of recruits.

If a QB recruit starts looking at VT and finds out that he head coach and OC are responsible for both Andy Dalton and Paxton Lynch, it makes it easy for Fuente to say (and recruits to believe) that not only will they get some of the best QB coaching in the country but they'll also be playing P5 ball at a school with a little history, a chance at championships, and some NFL success.

Might not get us the #1 recruit in the country but it sure does put us in position to pull a few high caliber guys.

Damn I am very tired of her. Worst representative of the country on any national team we have, I'd guess.

You hit the nail on the head. I was about to say in that comment that I didn't like to use the phrase 'interpersonal dumb' because it sounds insulting instead of descriptive, but your point is exactly what I was trying to get at. He's book smart but not social smart. I still don't know how to convey this perfectly but I think your description is apt.

intentionally take a safety to avoid a blocked punt

You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention
