So the trophy design contest was a huge success it looks like... Damn idiots picked the Speedway with the Lombardi trophy sticking out the center...real creative. I'm not salty because my trophy design was actually creative and included some connection to the town of Bristol besides just the race track... but I definitely should have won that contest.
We're going to be up so big by half time in so many games this year that both QBs will get plenty of playing time /s

Now that we've got our network, I say screw 'em and get rid of them. We used them to get the network, we don't need them anymore.
The only reason ND might ever join is if it becomes abundantly clear that in order to make it to the playoffs each team must win a conference title game. Until that happens (which, might be never) ND has no reason or incentive to join as a full member. I think 14 teams is too many for a conference and so 16 would DEFINITELY be too many. So I don't see the benefit of adding ND as a full time member because it will just create even more schedule headaches for the conference. We hate it right now because we only play the likes of FSU, Clemson, UL once every 7 ECU games. Adding ND full time means bringing in another team to make the conference 16 and thus complicating the schedule even further to the point of us rarely playing teams from the other side.
the ACC is stupid. 9 game schedules will help, but it doesn't solve the problem entirely. The conference got too big for it's own good.
Can we take a second to talk about the tar heel logo:
Nothing says serious contender like a foot with a smudge on it. Seriously, it looks like a UNC grad was going barefoot and stepped in his degree.
Or how about this: Evans to start and if (and only if) we're up by at least 10 points at the half, Motley comes in as the closer. That way they both get meaningful in-game reps, but it's not like the Miami game last year where the "starter" had the other QB threatening to come in on the sideline if he's not doing well enough.

All the random games are played on the last weekend of Oct, Halloween. It's called "The Scariest Week in College Football" or "The Torture Bowl" or something clever, because you don't find out who you play until the weekend before. If you played away one year, you automatically get home the next. The home program must prepare the hotel accommodations in advance for the opposing team and there is a deal with the regional airlines for 1/2 price flash sale on tickets.
Let's put a little more drama into the mid-season.

David Teel stated that if it weren't for the association with ND, the ACC would not have gotten the ACC Network from ESPN. Given the college arms race the ACC finds itself with the other P5 conferences, I've gotten to a good place as far as ND's relationship with the ACC. Here is a direct quote from the David Teel article:
Absent Notre Dame, there might not well be an ACC Network. Its name was a driving force in ESPN exploring the project, a development that quickly led to the conference's 2013 grant of media rights, which bound members to the league through 2027 – the grant has since been extended through 2036.

Frank better come out driving a Nascar around the track to stop at the 50 and come out to a standing ovation all while Enter Sandman plays. Anything less would be an insult.

# | Hokies' Quarterback Competition Continues, and "May the Best Man Win" I am definitely not a Motley downer, but I just think Fuente will choose Evans to start simply because he seems to play the long game. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if he picked Jackson and molded him for 4 years like he did Lynch, but I believe the call goes to Evans this year. Motley will rep almost as many times as Evans because he wants QB2 to be fully ready to go.

I'm not sure what happens if you have 9 teams playing 3/7 teams from the other division while 5 teams are only playing 2/7 teams from the other division in a given year.

My suggestion is: Google, Hayne's Manuel and RockAuto.com. The one thing I learned at VT that has never failed me is that you can Google anything. You are probably not the only one with your car problem. There is probably a video on how to fix it, or a Forum topic explaining how someone solved it. I've kept my car on the road for almost 300k miles.
Personally, even with an "honest mechanic," you buy your parts twice, and the labor is $100 an hour, so if you take the time to learn to trouble shoot your own vehicle you are paying 10-33% of the cost to keep it out of a shop. The larger the job, the more you save. But I live in Alabama, and down here we paint our garage floors with epoxy, get a good creeper, and roll.
