JMHO... each QB has his threshold... I think we exceeded Glennon's, Motley's, and Thomas's
looking forward to a new day... though I'd feel more comfortable if I saw professional H-Backs playing the role that seems to be the key to our offense ... either way I think we're going to get some really good QB play and scheming that maximizes talent
My guess is that it makes more sense if you look at it from a recruiting prestige point of view. If you're just trying to say you can bring in elite talent, you gloss over what positions you actually need and focus on how "good" a recruit you pull. The idea being, whether or not this is true, that getting 5* begets getting more 5*.
But then again, what do I know, recruiting confuses me and I don't get why anyone would want to spend 4 years in Tallahassee or Tuscaloosa instead of in the mountains of Virginia.

Part of it is that he is a local kid. Fans like that feel good story.
Fuente will give Motley the best chance to build and grow as a qb. I wouldn't mind seeing some plays specifically for him, but Evans will give us the most upside.
No i'm the type of guy that doesn't just think my team is going to win because they are my favorite team. I'd love nothing more than for mihota to be an all-acc type of guy if he does end up being the starter opposite of ekanem I just don't have the same optimism that French does.
Edit: That also isn't an indictment on mihota it's more on the overall talent level of the defense and having to account for what i'm thinking will be a weak secondary.
Also playing in Wing T growing up doesn't help developing it either.

where do you see "enamored fascination" with Mot? Cuz I'm not seeing it...Guy asked who it'll be. We've had this discussion. I don't think anyone is enamored with Motley. Most people seem to think Evans will win the starting job. (In fact, if there is any inexplicable enamored fascination, it's towards Evans, not Motley) The difference is that there is a faction of the fanbase who want to see heads roll if Motley wins and there is a different faction who is a little more trusting of the coaches and willing to see what happens regardless of who starts. Heck, at this point, I wouldn't be upset if Josh Jackson wins the starting role. I trust the coaches to put the best guy in the game.

I didn't miss his point. DE's getting pressure isn't nearly as important when you have elite corners like flowers/macho and a defense with a lot more talent then we will have this season. When you don't know what you have in the secondary getting pressure much quicker takes a lot of pressure off of them and while I think mihota will definitely be better than dadi against the run and playing assignment football he isn't an explosive guy off the edge that is going to get a ton of pressure.
